キツツキ亜目（きつつきあもく、学名 Pici）は、鳥類キツツキ目の亜目である。
5科377種[1] 、日本に11種が生息する。
系統と分類[編集]
キツツキ目の2亜目の片方で、もう1つのキリハシ亜目 Galbulae と姉妹群である[2][3]。Sibley分類ではこれらの群をキツツキ目 Piciformes・キリハシ目 Galbuliformes としていた。
キツツキ下目 Picides とオオハシ下目 Ramphastides（またはキツツキ上科 Picoidea とオオハシ上科 Ramphastoidea[4]）に分かれ、それらは互いに姉妹群である。
キツツキ科のみをキツツキ亜目、その他のキツツキ目をキリハシ亜目とする分類もあったが[5]、系統的ではない。
