License tagging for Image:CUC Regions Map.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CUC Regions Map.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:04, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:CUC Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CUC Logo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Welcome to the Religion Project![edit]

Welcome and thank you for having joined the Religion Project. I noted that you have an interest in Unitarian Universalism, and I'm very happy to see it. I regret to say that my own fields of expertise are more or less generic Judeo-Christian and related, with some basic knowledge of the older and basically no longer extant groups, and look forward to being able to work with you and the other members on these articles. For what little it might be worth, I am a fairly good copywriter, editor, and reviewer. Several of the other members have much more knowledge and expertise in other fields, and it is my sincerest hope that you will feel free to look to the project or any of its members if you so wish. If you ever do have any questions or concerns in which you think I might be able to help, please do not hesitate to contact me. Again, welcome to the project, and happy editing! The article about Unitarian Universalist Conferences you wanted to be rated[edit]

I have rated this article. See it's talk page and my comments. If you don't agree with my rating or comments please inform me. Kkrystian 10:27 (UTC+1) 30 Dec 2006

I am sorry I commented that article so harshly. I really didn't mean to criticise, insult or defame you. I realise I should have been more diplomatic. Sorry again. Kkrystian 19:17 (UTC+1) 3 January 2007

I noticed you changed Ratchet Screwdriver to merge to Wink (game). Would you mind saying why on the talk page? Thanks. :) Drum guy 21:15, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

I removed some categories from your user page. The only categories can be on user pages are categories with the word "user" in them. — Randall Bart 17:49, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Kissy face) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. --Finngall talk 23:23, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Devin, The reason I deleted the UUstub template from Kissy Face is that, as it stands now, the article doesn't say anything about Unitarian Universalism. I'm assuming from your "see also" that it is played at UUYouth Conferences, but the article does not state or give any evidence of that. -Aleta 02:15, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding edits to Wink (game)[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Nived 90! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule \bangelfire\.com\/, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. TfD nomination of Template:UU Youth Games[edit]

Template:UU Youth Games has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. — McGeddon 16:52, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - a stub template or category which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 02:04, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nived 90, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg) was found at the following location: User talk:Nived 90. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 02:24, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you editing other users' stuff?[edit]

Hello. I noticed you have edited one of my userboxes. I am reverting the change because you left no reason why you made the change. Most people don't like it when people go around editing other people's user-name-space pages (page such as User:FastLizard4/Userboxing/...) for no apparent reason, hence edit summaries and talk pages. If the border size is bothering you, make you own, don't use mine. Now, beneficial changes (such as removing fair-use images) that are justified some way or another (either on my Talk Page or in an edit summary) I would appreciate, and I owe some people for watching my back in this way. Thank you.
--FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 05:43, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Another note: my talk page has a section for suggestion on my userboxes. Why don't you say something there?

Speedy deletion of Template:User WPUU/Invite[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:User WPUU/Invite requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Fair use rationale for Image:AUC Logo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AUC Logo.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:30, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:AUC Logo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AUC Logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:31, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Unassessed-Class Alternative education articles, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Unassessed-Class Alternative education articles has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Unassessed-Class Alternative education articles, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Here to help articles tagged for rescue!

Hi, Adarkhairedone, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

Disputed fair use rationale for File:Icuu final logo.jpg}[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Icuu final logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. User:Nived 90/User boxes[edit]

Hi! I noticed your question at MfD about User:Nived 90/User boxes. I could not find any record of someone adding a {{mfd}} tag to the page, so my best guess of what happened is that someone added an {{mfd}} tag to one of the userboxes that is transcluded in the page. As far as I can tell, no one proposed the page for deletion, so you don't have to worry about that. Cheers, –BLACK FALCON (TALK) 04:17, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The editor who tagged your userbox for deletion, User:Tedius Zanarukando, took no other steps to complete the nomination. Since it's been nearly three weeks, I think it's safe to remove the {{mfd}} tag (I've done so already). Also, I have left a short note for the editor at his or her talk page (see User talk:Tedius Zanarukando#Incomplete MfD nomination). –BLACK FALCON (TALK) 16:47, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:The Hot 20 Red Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:The Hot 20 Red Logo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 23:04, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of HUUmanists, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.iheu.org/node/1460. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 02:12, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on HUUmanists requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File:Sadface.jpg missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Sadface.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:51, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:UUsymbol.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:UUsymbol.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:54, 14 February 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:54, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:CUCLogo.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:CUCLogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Your contributed article, Hanging on by a Thread Sessions Vol. 1[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Hanging on by a Thread Sessions Vol. 1. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Hanging on by a Thread Sessions, Vol. 1. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Hanging on by a Thread Sessions, Vol. 1 - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:28, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps the two articles should be combined.
Also, you're making changes without seeking consensus. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:32, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Time in Nova Scotia[edit]

Hi Nived! I noticed you are using my userbox that shows your local time. That's great! As you have probably seen I'm still in the process of adding more time zones to the relevant templates, and I want to let you know that I have added your time zone to the list (which is the Atlantic Time Zone for Nova Scotia if I'm not mistaken). That means that you can replace the hour offset with the abbreviation AT so that you don't have to worry about Daylight Saving Time (DST) since that is being taken care of automatically.

Because I'm not fully familiar with all the ins and outs of every time zone on the planet, I'd like to ask you if I did the right thing. Is it correct that DST begins and ends at 2 a.m. local time (on the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November)? As far as I know Canadian time follows US time rules almost anywhere, but I'd like to be sure.

Thank you! Styath (talk) 19:08, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Liveriot.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Liveriot.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. About Universalism[edit]

Hi Nived 90. The point with creating the {{Universalism-bio-stub}} (transcluded in the Category:Religious biography stubs) was very simple: the Category:Religion stubs is overpopulated, while the Category:Religious biography stubs is underpopulated. Just that. Regards, --Fadesga (talk) 09:48, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nived 90. Before going to the debate page for the proposals, I would like to quickly ask you something. So far, I see that stubs related to Universalism, Unitarianism and Unitarian Universalism are somehow related, aren't they? There are at least four templates:

So: if you please answer me a simple question, then we might move forward to the WikiProject Stub sorting page. My question is about Unitarian Universalism: it is at the same time part of the wider topics "Unitarianism" and "Universalism", isn't it? If that is the case, then we could think about categories with transcluded templates, and this way reach the minimum of 60 stubs per category.

Just answer me this question, please. Regards, --Fadesga (talk) 22:10, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What I mean: we could think about a bigger container category, and then the whole issue with related stubs would be properly answered. --Fadesga (talk) 22:41, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Universalism tagging[edit]

I'm reverting your addition of the {{universalism}} template across a number of articles. You seem to be indiscriminately adding the template based on your own thoughts of what concepts are universalistic in nature, but that is not appropriate. There must be significant reliable sources linking a concept with the nature of Universalism. Regards, -- Jeff3000 (talk) 19:09, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

While the Universalism Wikipedia article states certain things like what you quote (i.e. "referring to religious, theological, and philosophical concepts with universal application or applicability. Universalism is a term used to identify particular doctrines considering all people in their formation" connecting that with concepts where there is no reliable source stating the same thing is considered synthesis and therefore original research and not really applicable in Wikipedia. So rather than than me having to prove that they are not related, the burden of proof is on you to show that there are significant reliable source connecting the concepts that you have added in the template, and which you are tagging in categories and including the template. Regards, -- Jeff3000 (talk)
Some places to look for possible references might show up in Bahá'í Faith on life after death and Bahá'í Faith and the unity of religion. However I do see Nived 90 threw the net pretty broadly. There are some links that would not come to mind for me. It might be worth it to substantiate carefully what articles topics do actually directly link with a universalism theme and why. As Jeff3000 says there is some need for documentation for what we put in wikipedia. --Smkolins (talk) 15:20, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Recollection (Superchick album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

does not meet WP:NALBUMS

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
