License tagging for File:Mahendragiri PIB ministry of Hme image 1sep23.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mahendragiri PIB ministry of Hme image 1sep23.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:30, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Mahendragiri PIB ministry of Hme image 1sep23.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Mahendragiri PIB ministry of Hme image 1sep23.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 05:38, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Steps towards becoming an autopatroller[edit]

Hello. Thank you very much for your valuable contributions. You appear to be eligible for autopatrolled rights because you are frequently writing new articles about Indian sportswomen. This will help to reduce the workload of new page reviewers. However, in order to gain autopatrolled rights, you must have a clean article creation history. So far, none of your articles have been deleted [1]. The important thing I suggest you remember from now on is Template:DEFAULTSORT. Remember to include this in biographies. It is not required for non-BLP articles. Understanding Wikipedia:Content assessment will also be beneficial. It is not required, but it will make the article you create perfect and polished. Please keep these steps in mind as you write your next articles. After becoming more comfortable with these steps, you may apply for autopatroll rights in the near future. Best regards. Thilsebatti (talk) 04:51, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thanks a lot for reviewing most of my new articles which I am doing as part of Women in Red (Indian sportswomen). Thanks also for the valuable suggestions. Will try to learn these guidelines better before I apply for patrol. thanks and regards, David Davidindia (talk) 03:23, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is also a good practice if you add the new articles about women at Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Meetup/252 in the list. I used to do it whenever I see new articles about women. But it is now a tidious task for me as I come across many of them in a single day as a part of the review process. Thilsebatti (talk) 03:32, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh ok. Thanks for the info. I do for 10,000 India articles but did not know about this. Will do from now on. thanks a lot. Davidindia (talk) 03:42, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
One more tip. Install User:Kephir/gadgets/rater and you can assess articles yourself. Thilsebatti (talk) 07:03, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot! I will try! Davidindia (talk) 07:34, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just as an admin that patrols the perms pages, I'm not sure I'd grant autopatrolled just yet. The articles are mainly stubs/short start-classes, and several have unsourced segments (see Michel Castanha, Langam Chaoba Devi, Kajol D'Souza, and Shreya Hooda for examples). Autopatrolled articles always need to be properly sourced as they're only getting seen by one set of eyes before they're indexed by search engines. Anarchyte (talk) 10:16, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I realised I need to learn a lot more. Thanks a lot! Davidindia (talk) 11:32, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Davidindia

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Stifle, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Neeraj Maan, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Stifle}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

@Chris troutman:
Thanks a lot Chris for reviewing the page. As part of the 'Women in Red' project I was doing the red links for all the Indian sportswomen. Aishwarya has first place in the Asian Athletic Championships and a fourth in the Asian Games, where she won the heats. She has also won the Indian Senior National championships like Indian Open, INdian grand prix etc according to the World Athletics profile page. Will do desk research and gather all the citations as suggested. Some of these pass WP:NATHLETE guidelines. Or else, it may be deleted. Thanks again for the suggestions, David Davidindia (talk) 15:44, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
She is notable as she passes two criterias listed in WP:NTRACK. So I have removed the tag. Thilsebatti (talk) 15:56, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Himanshi Rathi, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Maliner (talk) 18:37, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have developed the article and added reliable secondary sources. Did not see your reply (which you said is on the talk page). Kindly review and let me know what I should do.
thanks and regards, david Davidindia (talk) 16:24, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For your information, usually new page patrollers wait for an hour before taking any actions relevant to page patrolling for the new pages. We expect fully furnished article in main space. Article main space is not for infinite hosting of under sourced materials. It is the draft space where you can improve your under sourced work for some time (again not infinitely). In your case a day was passed after your creation when I patrolled it. I will suggest you to go through our WP:AFC Procees as I see multiple deletion or draftification template on your talk for your future work. Maliner (talk) 16:30, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot. Will do the developing of the page in draft space and will move to mainspace late. thanks! David Davidindia (talk) 16:37, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Davidindia Literally that was a silly move by you. I told you to go through AFC. I am reverting it. Maliner (talk) 16:52, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Submit review is not working. What should I do now? Davidindia (talk) 16:54, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It was not a good move as you moved it to wikipedia name space. I am submitting it for you. Maliner (talk) 16:58, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, as per your note, I have added references including a detailed article about the subject BLP including her personal details and achievements in Times of India which is a reliable, reputed secondary source which is not connected to the BLP. Enough info is there to assess as start class with citations. Can you please let me know if it is not eligible for main space.Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks, david Davidindia (talk) 17:00, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have submitted it for you and leaving it for another reviewer, if anyone finds it suitable for main space It will be moved to Article main space (not Wikipedia name space as you moved). Parting now. Maliner (talk) 17:05, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Davidindia (talk) 17:20, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about it. I tried submit twice, it did not work and then I tried Move... Davidindia (talk) 17:05, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for all your support. The article under AfC is approved and moved to main space now. Davidindia (talk) 18:29, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Rowers[edit]

Hi, I have a question about Indian rowers and since I found you as the most active Indian users in this regard I think I need your help. there are two articles about Indian rowers named Ashish, Ashish Goliyan (born 2001) and Ashish (rower) (born 1997). the article says Ashish Goliyan won a bronze in Hangzhou but from what I can see from the results he didn't. he was just an alternate who actually didn't participate in any race. that was the other Ashish guy who won two medals in Hangzhou (in M4- and M8+). can you confirm this or I'm making a mistake ? Sports2021 (talk) 22:29, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you are right. Ashish Goliyan was a substitute. Ashish Ashish (as he is referred to int he time sheets) is Ashish (Godara Jat) who won two medals. One in men's eight and men's four. He is from Rajasthan. There are three other Indian rowers with Ashish name and two of them are at the Asian Games I think. The confusion happened because a PTI report which erroneously carried the name as Ashish Goliyan in the men's four team while actually the rower was Ashish Ashish (Ahsish Godara). So many newspapers carried that report. Most of the content written for Ashish became irrelevant when the second name Goliyan was added. So another article was created on request as Ashish (rower). And both articles' content jumbled up and was cleaned later. I will check once again. In between 30 medal winner BLPs, most of them rowers, were put for AfD. I am travelling and once I am back to Bengaluru, will try check them. You can also delete the medal part. thanks for pointing out. Best regards! Davidindia (talk) 12:04, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Removed the medal part in Ashish Goliyan page. Ashish Ashish (Godara) won both the medals. Thanks Davidindia (talk) 12:35, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes thanks, I saw those newspapers reports which was indeed misleading but then checked both guys' instagram to make sure who is who. just wanted a confirmation from someone who is more familiar to be sure. Sports2021 (talk) 01:41, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh good. Instagram accounts are private. You can check the Asian Games page of the Rowing Federation of India, where it is all clear. Best regards, David Davidindia (talk) 04:52, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about G. V. Vennela[edit]

Hello Davidindia, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, G. V. Vennela, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/G. V. Vennela.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|LordVoldemort728}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hi LordVoldemort728,
Thanks for reviewing the article and letting me know. I feel that the subject passed notability due to her legendary father and is not just a onevent of contesting election. Apart from being Gaddar's daughter, she has been doing yeomen service because of her school and is widely recognised. She has been in the news for a long time due to the visit of Rahul Gandhi to meet her and the finally the MLA seat. There is all india coverage and more than two articles in mainstream newspapers have written about her and not just passing references due to her election candidature. I would like to improve it and add more citations. Thanks and regards,
Davidindia (talk) 09:24, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@LordVoldemort728: I am also working on the article, so that you can review your decision considering the high popularity of the BLP. thanks! Davidindia (talk) 10:17, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Central Prison, Ballari requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.deccanchronicle.com/nation/current-affairs/160817/ballaris-jail-walls-have-many-a-story-to-tell.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Will soon add other sources and info, to expand the article Davidindia (talk) 17:23, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I checked your page after the last updates. Please have a look at the Earwig report for the page, it still shows the article has a large amount of close paraphrasing (parts of sentences directly copied from the source). It is still a copyright violation. You need to rewrite the article in your own words, as already mentioned. This issue affects also other articles you have written. Let me know if you need support. Broc (talk) 18:51, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Another note: once you have "fixed" the articles (i.e., rewritten in your own words), you will need to request revision deletion for all the previous edits on the page, so that the copyrighted content is not visible anymore in the page history. I can help you do that if you want. Just give me a ping if you need help. Broc (talk) 18:54, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will leave this to an admin to decide. If the foundational edit is a blatant copyright violation, usually the page gets deleted. Please write articles in your own words, and not modifying copyrighted content. Broc (talk) 17:34, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Close paraphrasing[edit]

Hi! I'm checking a few of your recently created articles and many of them could be flagged as copyright violations, as you are close paraphrasing (only changing a few words) the original sources. This might create a lot of work for fellow Wikipedians that will have to clean up later. Please make sure you are writing pages in your own words! I would suggest you to read Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing before editing any further. Let me know if you need some help understanding this guideline. Broc (talk) 17:32, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for flagging the issue. I have rewritten and removed a lot of text to avoid copyright violations. will be more careful and spend time to put in my own words. thanks! Davidindia (talk) 17:35, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There are plenty of reliable, secondary articles as it is a non-government company that invented a learning tool for visually challenged and the President of India also invited here for a talk yesterday. That news prompted me to write the article. Both Annie and a renamed tool are being widely used in government schools and many articles are already out in public domain. I was not sure if a new article for Annie should be created... Thats why, I took a break and by that time I came back to develop it, it was moved. All in good faith, thanks and regards! Collab?[edit]

Hi @Davidindia, I hope you are doing fine. I am currently working on the 1999 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election#Results by constituency section and I am here to request you to join with me in filling up the data from the [2] in the table. I have already reformatted the constituencies district wise and the table can be found here: User:456legend/Sandbox/Andhra 456legendtalk 17:39, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

456legendtalk Thanks for letting me know. Sure, I will support as much as possible. I am not very good at tabulation, but I see that you have already done it. I will fill up the runners-up names. Thanks and best regards! Davidindia (talk) 05:27, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You are a genius[edit]

I tried so hard to find citations for British Rail regional multiple unit numbering to no avail. Novellasyes (talk) 12:56, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Umm.. not really. I guess, I am just lucky finding em... Thanks or the good words, though. Best regards! Davidindia (talk) 14:13, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

IMDB refs[edit]

IMDB is an unreliable source per WP:IMDB as it is WP:USERGENERATED, please stop using it as a source. Waxworker (talk) 14:23, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube is also generally an unreliable source per WP:RSPYT unless the channel uploading the video is reliable (e.g. BBC news, CNN). Last.fm is a deprecated source per WP:LASTFM. Here you used Shutterstock as a source to support the statement that "The Atlas mountains images are breathtaking"? This isn't an improvement and the cited source doesn't verify this, such a claim would need to be attributed to a source rather than said in Wikipedia's voice, see WP:NPOV. I've reverted a number of your WP:FEB24 edits as they don't seem like an improvement or use unreliable sources. Waxworker (talk) 14:38, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Waxworker (talk) Thanks for alerting. In my eagerness to do more WP:FEB24 on the last day, I guess, I made a mistake taking some unreliable sources, which I checked twice in all my entries earlier. Thanks and regards, David Davidindia (talk) 16:53, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
