Scope of the template[edit]

@WilliamJE: Re: this edit removing Pan Am Flight 816 which took place in French Polynesia.

I intended for this template to include not only Metropolitan France (the part of France in Europe) and overseas departments/regions of France proper (French Guiana, Reunion, Mayotte, Guadeloupe, and Martinique) but also French overseas collectivities including St. Pierre and Miquelon, Wallis and Futuna, Saint Martin, Saint Barthelemy, and French Polynesia. I also intended for it to include New Caledonia, a sui generis collectivity.

The main reason is that the French BEA has jurisdiction in overseas territories too. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:50, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
