A tag has been placed on Cornerstone Schools (Georgia) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Archiving talk page?[edit]

Hello, WhisperToMe,

I think it is time for you to start archiving your User talk page. You have over 700 discussions here now! I came here to see if an editor had notified you about the Proposed Deletion of an article you created and it was impossible to find out whether or not you had been notified without doing a Search of your talk page. I have a pretty full talk page myself but nowhere near this long. Please help out your fellow editors who might come here to talk with you and start archiving or even deleting some of the older messages. Thank you, in advance, for considering my suggestion. Journal names[edit]

You know, it's much simpler to simply capitalize them properly from the start instead of using International journal of Middle East studies and then creating redirects for it. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 08:32, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Headbomb: I'm intentionally trying to create redirects from the wrong capitalizations that show up in Ex Libris Group (University of Houston Libraries) or other academic databases so that people using the wrong capitalizations get redirected to the right ones. I copy the capitalizations verbatim and fix them later, partly because I want to figure out which wrong capitalizations occur (so I can create the redirects). Thank you for merging this article into Israel Goldstein Youth Village. Most people who suggest a merge at an AfD are never heard from again. One last step in a merge is to blank and redirect the original article to the new one. I've done that for you, so it's removed from the large list of AfD merges. Again, thanks for the extra effort. It's much appreciated. Joyous! | Talk 01:12, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Georgia photos[edit]

I saw you asking someone about getting photos in Georgia. I make it to the Atlanta area often, and much of the southeast part of the state. I'll take a look at your photo requests. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 21:40, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Bubba73: Thank you so much! I will list Savannah photos on the same page sometime today. WhisperToMe (talk) 21:42, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm 1 hour from Savannah, so that sounds fine. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 23:12, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bubba73: Great! I listed Savannah requests, Hilton Head SC requests, and Glynn County (Brunswick and St. Simons Island) requests. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:48, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I live in Glynn County. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 23:55, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bubba73: Ok! In that case I listed the school district headquarters and the remaining schools, as well as remaining post offices. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:03, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've already done the Risley school, see Colored_Memorial_School_and_Risley_High_School. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 00:05, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bubba73: The historic school is very pretty! As for Risley Middle it seems they have a new building at 707 South Port Pkwy., Brunswick, GA 31523 (Google Maps view). I can check Newspapers.com to see if they moved from the old building and when. Seems they moved in 2011 WhisperToMe (talk) 00:24, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You listed "Glynn Middle School: 635 Lanier Blvd." - that is the old school building. I've uploaded a photo of the new school (same name). Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 01:18, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there is a new Risley (same name). Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 01:21, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Bubba73: Is it File:Glynn Middle School, Brunswick, GA, US.jpg? It looks like another image of the high school. WhisperToMe (talk) 01:46, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops, you are right. Bad memory. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 02:21, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bubba73: Eh I have bad memory sometimes too. BTW if you like I can post requests for the Florida Keys, if you have plans to go back. WhisperToMe (talk) 02:43, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was there in 2017 and again in January, I think. I'm not planning to go back. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 05:59, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bubba73: Understood! In that case I'll concentrate on Georgia photo requests listed on that userpage. WhisperToMe (talk) 11:42, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Are you planning to use these photos in articles? I'm planning to do the Glynn county schools soon (also McIntosh County). Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 18:59, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I got the other two schools in McIntosh County because I was there today, plus two near me in Glynn County (my daughter went to them). Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 20:24, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bubba73: Yes, these are intended for articles! For small, rural Georgia school districts I try to do a gallery of all of the schools. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:00, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I'm working toward it. I got four schools today. I probably can't get he post office on Sea Island. You used to be able to drive onto the island, but several years ago they make it gated. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 23:56, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The first batch (it is hard to get a good angle on these):

Also, St. Francis is constructing a new building. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 03:49, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Four more from downtown Brunswick:

Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 02:02, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Another four Glynn County schools:

Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 23:06, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Here are five more photos from the part of Glynn County that is on the mainland.

I will be on St. Simons Island Monday, but I don't know if I will have time to get photos. In most of these photos, the Sun was at a bad angle! I can get them at other times of day if better photos are needed, i.e. for an article about the school. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 00:29, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was on St. Simons today, so I got the post office File:Post Office, St. Sumons, GA, US.jpg. It will be better if I go on a Sunday, when there aren't so many cars. Also, with the schools, I've been doing them late in the afternoon, after school is out. But there are still cars there and the lighting is getting bad. I need to do them earlier in the day when school is not in session. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 22:31, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted edit[edit]

Hi there—I reverted these edits to Milwaukee as the land in question is purely industrial, making the school district notes rather academic. Please let me know if I'm missing something! Best, Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 05:50, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@The ed17: Thanks for informing me! One thing is that even industrial land pays taxes which funds the schools. An example: Wiseburn Unified School District in California has large parts of El Segundo. They are not residential, but those parts are still important as they have corporate operations that funnel tax money to the Wiseburn schools. Likewise that Waukesha County part of Milwaukee would have business operations funneling tax money to Menomonee schools. Additionally, there's a possibility that in the future land could be rezoned to residential. WhisperToMe (talk) 05:53, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting points! I wouldn't dispute them, but I would say that it's not necessary to include that info in the article. First, we could always update the article in the future if it's rezoned. Second, in the meantime there's WP:NOTEVERYTHING to contend with: "A Wikipedia article should not be a complete exposition of all possible details, but a summary of accepted knowledge regarding its subject." Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 06:06, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@The ed17: When I get the chance I may check newspaper archives to see if a source explicitly addresses that parts of Milwaukee may be in other counties but that no students live there. (there have been documents saying "this part of this city is in this district but nobody lives there" such as this one saying that nobody lives in the part of Bell, California that is in Montebello USD). Having a single sentence collectively acknowledge that all children living in Milwaukee are in MPS despite any other parts of the city technically being in other districts would be a good way to pre-emptively address such questions.
While it's true not everything has to be covered in an article, the fact that school districts are separate from city governments (in many states) and don't always align with city boundaries (also in many states, Wisconsin included!) is a recurring theme and a very important detail in U.S. city-related articles.

Enquiring about French International School of Hong Kong Wikipedia source[edit]

Hi, I am writing to enquire about the French International School of Hong Kong Wikipedia source, more specifically:

"Operations The school has a casual dress code, with boundaries using common sense. The South China Morning Post stated in 1984 that "The atmosphere is informal." A 1990 SCMP article stated that the admissions process was competitive and that the Anglophone classes were more difficult to get into."

I have tried to access the related newspaper article online, however i do not have access to it via ProQuest Historical Newspapers. Do you have another source for it? Thank you. 4222godde (talk) 15:33, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@4222godde: Hi! You can go to Wikipedia:Resource Request and ask for the particular articles. The same group had e-mailed copies of the articles to me. I can also e-mail them to you if you like. Anyhow, the reality is that many sources are not always online, or not online without a paywall. Some sources may need in-person library visits and/or require paywalled or institutional access. Hope this helps! WhisperToMe (talk) 15:55, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
