I would recommend starting out by editing existing articles, though, as writing a new one from scratch can be challenging. Please let me know if you have any further questions! If you've read all of § Before you start writing, including the relevant links, the section below links to the article wizard, which walks you through the steps of actually creating a draft. @BobbleObill, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a social networking site, so there isn't really a mechanism to "follow" a user.
