This is to let you know that the above article has been scheduled as today's featured article for 31 December 2024. Please check that the article needs no amendments. Feel free to amend the draft blurb, which can be found at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/December 2024, or to make comments on other matters concerning the scheduling of this article at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/December 2024. Please keep an eye on that page, as comments regarding the draft blurb may be left there. I also suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors from two days before the article appears on the Main Page. Thanks and congratulations on your work!—Wehwalt (talk) 17:57, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- Just to let you know I've reverted your edits to the blurb for the TFA day. We have no room to add anything. We have a limit of 1025 characters, it was at 1023 before you edited, and you added 130 characters. You can edit the blurb, I hope you do, but we can't make it longer. Well, not more than two characters longer. Sorry I didn't notice this before. Wehwalt (talk) 21:23, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- Wehwalt, Sorry to bother you. I measure characters in BBEdit and suspect you measure some other way. I cut two phrases and added a sentence. Is it within your guidelines? Thanks for your help. -SusanLesch (talk) 23:28, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- Word says it's 1071 including spaces. It would help to know what to count. Do I include (Full article...)? And omit wiki markup? -SusanLesch (talk) 23:43, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- Tried again and come out <1000, so it's all right. -SusanLesch (talk) 00:16, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Who ad-libbed?
[edit]Re [1], I read that as Steinbrenner ad-libbed. Trump's was scripted, which is the opposite. ―Mandruss ☎ 18:42, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, Mandruss. Trump ad-libbed. The way I understand it, the whole show was unscripted; the crew liked it when they heard it, so they kept it. Sorry I don't have time until this evening to work on this. -SusanLesch (talk) 18:59, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- P.S. I meant "overwork" in the second sense in my edit summary.
- Mandruss, The Washington Post explains this:
-SusanLesch (talk) 18:24, 1 January 2025 (UTC)Trump’s signature line from his NBC reality show, “The Apprentice,” was, in quintessential Trump style, improvised. He blurted it out during the taping of his first show, and the crew instantly knew they had a winner.
- P.S. I meant "overwork" in the second sense in my edit summary.
