User talk:R'n'B

Welcome to my talk page. Here are some tips to help you communicate with me:

  • Please continue any conversation on the page where it was started.
    • Thus, if I have left a message on your talk page please DO NOT post a reply here. I will have your talk page on watch and will note when you have replied.
  • Add or respond to an existing conversation under the existing heading.
    • Indent your comment when replying by using an appropriate number of colons ':'.
    • Create a new heading if the original conversation is archived.
  • To initiate a new conversation on this page click on this link.
  • If you are expressing a concern about edits made by RussBot, it is extremely helpful if you include a link to a specific page or, even better, a link to a diff showing the actual edit that the bot made. This makes it much easier to diagnose and correct problems.
  • You should sign your comments. You can do this automatically by typing four tildes (~~~~).

Hi... I have nominated the AN/MPN-14K article for deletion. There is a current discussion about the nomination here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AN/MPN-14K Mobile Ground Approach System. Since you have done some editing to this page (possibly a long time ago), I want to invite you to chime in with your thoughts on the deletion there. Thanks. — TadgStirkland401 (TadgTalk) 17:38, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding RussBot's hatnote task

[edit]

Hi, I have noticed that RussBot appends a "(disambiguation)" to hatnote links that deliberately point to dab pages. But, it also hides the change by piping them. I think that is unnecessary, because WP:INTDAB allows linking to disambiguation pages without piping them. Also, if the original base title becomes a content page in the future, let's say Springfield. Then a hatnote containing [[Springfield (disambiguation)|Springfield]] would be misleading as people would think that the base title is the disambiguation page. Thanks! Thanks for your note. I personally agree with you, and if I manually edit a page, I don't pipe the disambiguation link. However, when the bot did that, people kept complaining to the point that the bot approval was in jeopardy of being revoked, so I changed the behavior to hide the change. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 17:16, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I understand now. Thank you. CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 17:44, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
