4th/25th to 2nd/11th

[edit]

I see that you renamed the old 4th/25th page to 2nd/11th, but the unit was not redesignated, only reflagged. Officially, the 4th/25th was inactivated, and the 2nd/11th was activated, so the lineages are totally separate.

I'm thinking about creating a new page for the 2nd/11th, and renaming it back to 4th/25th, since the information there is primarily about the 4th/25th. Thoughts? 82redleg (talk) 16:39, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Good point and good idea. --McChizzle (talk) 10:25, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

82nd Airborne

[edit]

The three Brigade Support Battalion joined the 82nd Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade in April 2023. They put it into one of the brigade's facebook posts. And the 1st Brigade will get the M10 Booker unit this fall for a year of training + developing doctrine. Cheers, noclador (talk) 10:16, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good link! That makes sense, but why is no other division or brigade doing that? If it was part of the restructuring of the Army, why would no other division or brigade do that? Something is wrong here.--McChizzle (talk) 22:35, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
AFAIK the 82nd is furthest ahead with the reorganization. They also disbanded all their weapons companies already. 1st CAV, 1st AD, and 101st Airborne will be next with the changes. I have the graphic of the 82nd Airborne ready to go if you want to update the division's organization. noclador (talk) 06:15, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

United States Military Beret Flashes

[edit]

Sir, I love the fact that you added Military Berets Flashes of the SDF. I would like to provide you with the information reference the OHIO MILITARY RESERVES Current and past Beret Flashes. When the OHMR was a CORPS with 4 BDEs and a Medical Detachment, each BDE had been authorized to wear Berets. Most wore the British Olive Green beret with the BDE Unit crest on the BDE specific Flashes. The 5th BDE wore blue berets same as the AF. Is there someplace I can send you the artwork for the flashes. I also have pictures of past members wearing the berets as a source of information for you. Thanks. OMRcop123 (talk) 18:20, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. We can not use information that is privately sent to us. We need to use information/evidence that is publicly available and from sources whose reliability can be tested (well sourced or has proven correct overtime). So if you have a good website or links to official documents you can to point us to, I would love to explore them. Just share those URLs on the talk page for the beret flash article for us to review. -McChizzle (talk) 12:51, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OMRcop123,
I found references to two different Ohio Military Reserve beret flashes and the collectors that have them talk about others existing, as you have. Do you have references/sources like this that you can share with us?

I am sorry for the delay in response to this, If you note I am one of the individuals responding in the thread you have talked about above. (77th PFDR). I can provide you a scan of photos of soldiers wearing the different flashes and berets to help better give you guidance with this topic. a couple of notes for you though. 1. 2nd BDE Flash is correct and there hasn't nor has here ever abeen ny connection / reference to an parachute program this is in error and I have advised RANGER JONEs ebay seller this many times, he just does not correct his ads. 2. The 4th BDE had a total of 4 versions of the flash, the one shown would have been the 4th BDE HQ, the 41st BN would have had a red line in the middle, the 42nd BN, 2 red lines and the 43rd, three red lines. 3. 1st BDE had a flash as well, I will enclose a picture of the different flashes. 4. 5th BDE wore AF Blue Berets vers the British Khaki (Olive drab) 5. 3rd Medical was authorized a beret as well rumor was that it was a light blue, some said UN color however I was able to find one picture and it was a Royal Blue in color, however I can not determine what the flash looks like.
Feel free to reach out to me. I also have a copy of the 1988 regulation in PDF form that states Berets are authorized in certain colors, but it does not cover the flashes. OMRcop123 (talk) 15:43, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's the flashes I am interested in. Feel free to upload or link them to Wikipedia or the forum we are apart of. There is no need to exchange private message or private emails on this subject. --McChizzle (talk) 00:46, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OMRcop123, Thank you for the forum post with documentation and history on the former Ohio Military Reserve beret flashes [1]. It was very helpful. I created SVGs for each and added them to the beret flash article. Cheers! --McChizzle (talk) 13:21, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
