Tracking category problems

[edit]

I undid this edit Special:Diff/1253576690/1257341365. It's causing a flood of tracking category errors in two places at least: Category:Articles with dead external links and Category:CS1 errors: archive-url. The first one was corrected by User:Anomie @ Special:Diff/1257341365/1257464120, but the second I have no idea how. Unfortunately the timing is bad, it's interfering with my bot process which clears that archive-url tracking category every 15th, and with so many members it's causing problems for the processes to fix the legitimate cases. It's also displaying red error messages in over 4,000 articles. Ideally the problem can be figured out in sandbox first. -- GreenC 01:02, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@GreenC My apologies. I reused a solution which was used several years ago where an archive-url was used with a "*" to encourage fixing it. I did not know it may cause such problems. I resolved the issue here and made some changes to avoid the red messages here. Note a related request to resolve the dead link issue at Wikipedia:Link rot/URL change requests/Archives/2025/February#nztop40.co.nz redirect and restructure. Template-protected edit request on 3 March 2025

[edit]

Change every {{cite web}} call to {{#invoke:cite web| }} instead. I've provided the code for this change in the sandbox. This lowers the WP:PEIS of the template without any change in functionality. List of best-selling girl groups, which is currently over the PEIS limit would not be completely fixed by this change, but it would benefit from it. Nickps (talk) 16:53, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Archive URL for Poland

[edit]

I added archive URL for Poland since their old website no longer works. Thanks LuanCampSouza93 for pointing it out and Edk for working on listing the archives. Muhandes (talk) 12:14, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sweden certifications and where to find it

[edit]

I couldn’t find any search database regarding Swedish album and certifications besides the site: https://sverigetopplistan.se/

Here are the examples:

! scope="row" | Sweden (GLF)[1] | Gold | 20,000 |-

Link: http://sys2.grammotex.se/netdata/grp006.mbr/artdata?sart=5918938

! scope="row" | Sweden (GLF)[2] | Gold | 4,000,000 |- FireDragonValo (talk) 18:51, 9 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Link: https://web.archive.org/web/20240429090751/http://sys2.grammotex.se/netdata/grp006.mbr/artdata?sart=6167311

As for Grammotex is concerned, I couldn’t find an id either because I’m not sure if I can ask them. http://sys2.grammotex.se/netdata/grp006.mbr/artdata?sart={{{id}}} FireDragonValo (talk) 17:44, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@FireDragonValo:  Done Use |source=grammotex and |id=.
This website is already 153 times so I feel comfortable adding it as a source and knowing it can be used. I hope you will take it on you to start with those instances.
