로버트 제로크

로버트 제로크(Robert Geroch, 1942년 6월 1 일 오하이오 주 애크런에서 출생)^[1]은 미국의 이론물리학자이자 시카고 대학교교수이다. 그는 일반상대성 이론과 수리물리학 분야에서 두드러지게 연구했으며 수학과 물리학에서 범주론의 사용을 장려했다. 그는 압하이 아쉬테카르, Basilis Xanthopoulos 및 Gary Horowitz 의 박사 과정 지도교수였다. 그는 또한 스핀 기하학에서 중요한 정리를 증명했다.^[2][3]

제로크는 존 아치볼드 휠러의 지도 하에 1967년 프린스턴 대학에서 〈일반 상대성 이론의 시공간에서의 특이점: 그 정의, 존재 및 국소적 특성화〉에 대한 논문으로 박사 학위를 취득했다.^[4]
