English: c/n Nakajima 5357. This is a Nakajima built ‘Zero’ which was captured at Saipan in June 1944. Brought to the US for testing, it flew some 190hours of trials. By the early 1950s it was owned by Ed Maloney, and has remained in the collection since. Originally marked ‘61-120’ when captured, it wore those markings again when it flew again after restoration in June 1978. It has carried out three tours of Japan, in 1978/79, in 1995, and finally in 2012/13. She was also transported to Hawaii in 2000, for filming of the movie ‘Pearl Harbor’. As this aeroplane is so transportable, please, please please bring her to the UK, we’d love to see a Zero at Duxford for Legends!!!! It is now on display at Planes of Fame Air Museum, Chino, California, USA. 20th September 2019
