インナー・サークル（Inner Circle）は、ジャマイカの5人編成のレゲエバンドである。
経歴[編集]
1968年にイアン・ルイス（Ian Lewis）、ロジャー・ルイス（Roger Lewis）の兄弟によりジャマイカの首都キングストンで活動を開始したことに始まる。彼らはしばらくはホテル付きのバンドとして活動していた。
その後、キーボードのバーナード・“トゥーター”・ハーヴェイ（Bernard "Touter" Harvey）と、ジャマイカでは天才少年シンガーとして有名であったジェイコブ・“キラー”・ミラー（Jacob "Killer" Miller）をボーカルに迎え、1974年に『ロック・ザ・ボード』でレコードデビューを果たす。1976年には大手レコード会社キャピタルレコードと契約を結んだ。1978年にはアイランドレコードより出したアルバム『Everything Is Great』がU.K.チャート20位を記録するなど、プロのレゲエバンドとしての本格的な活動が軌道に乗っていた。しかし、1980年3月23日にジェイコブ・ミラーを自動車事故で失い、以後、彼らはしばらく活動休止状態に陥った。
1985年にドラマーのランスロット・ホール（Lancelot Hall）を迎え活動を再開する。1987年にはカールトン・コフィ（Calton Coffie）がボーカルとして加入した。1993年にアトランティック・レコードよりリリースしたアルバム『Bad Boys』はアルバムタイトルとなった曲「Bad Boys」が米FOXのTV番組『全米警察24時 コップス』の主題歌となりアメリカのみならず世界的ヒットとなった。このヒットにより彼らはこの年のグラミー賞を受賞した。続いて1994年にはジョー・サウスのカヴァー曲「Games People Play（孤独の影）」がヒットする。
カールトン・コフィは1994年病気療養のため長期休暇を余儀なくされ1995年に脱退した。翌1996年からはクリス・ベントレー（Kris Bentley）がボーカルとして加入し現在に至っている。
