Morton Gould (New York, 10 febbraio 1913Orlando, 21 febbraio 1996) è stato un compositore, pianista e direttore d'orchestra statunitense.

Nato a New York, viene considerato un bambino prodigio quando a sei anni scrive le sue prime opere. Si è formato presso la Juilliard School. Durante la grande depressione ha lavorato come pianista in teatro. Dopo l'apertura della Radio City Music Hall, è diventato qui pianista. Ha lavorato anche in radio, presso la WOR (AM), e poi in televisione.

Ha composto e/o musicato diverse piece per Broadway tra cui Billion Dollar Baby e Arms and the Girl. Inoltre, per quanto riguarda le colonne sonore, ha realizzato tra l'altro quelle di Delightfully Dangerous (1945), Cinerama Holiday (1955) e Windjammer (1958).

Ha lavorato con le orchestre di tutti gli Stati Uniti, dal momento che i suoi lavori sono stati commissionati dalla Biblioteca del Congresso, dalla Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, dall'American Ballet Theatre, dal New York City Ballet e dal comitato dello United States Bicentennial.

Tra i riconoscimenti che ha ricevuto vi sono il Grammy Award alla carriera (2005), l'inserimento nella American Academy of Arts and Letters e il Pulitzer Prize for Music.
