Vittoria Paganetti (born 17 June 2006) is an Italian professional tennis player. She has a career high ITF junior combined ranking of No. 30, achieved on 29 April 2024.

Early life and background[edit]

Paganetti was born and raised in Bari.[1] She began playing tennis at the age of five,[2] and currently trains at the Circolo Tennis Bari.[3][4]

Junior career[edit]

In 2024, Paganetti reached the second round of the Australian Open in singles.[5][6] In doubles, she and partner Francesca Gandolfi were knocked out in the first round. At the ITF J300 Villena, she reached the semifinals in singles and won the doubles title with Gandolfi.[7][8] She was also accepted of the main draw of the French Open in both singles and doubles.[9]

Professional career[edit]

Paganetti made her WTA 125 debut with a wildcard into the 2022 Open delle Puglie, but lost in the first round to Laura Pigossi.[10] She also received a wildcard into the 2023 Open delle Puglie, but, again, but lost in the first round.[11] At the 2023 Archigen Cup in Solarino, she and partner Gaia Maduzzi were runners-up in doubles, losing to Linda Klimovičová and Julie Štruplová in the final.[12][13]

After passing the pre-qualifying tournament,[14] Paganetti made her WTA debut with a wildcard into the main draw of the 2024 Italian Open,[15][16] but lost in the first round to compatriot Lucrezia Stefanini.[17] She was only the fourth player from Apulia to make the main draw in Rome.[18]
