Review box in Planescape: Torment[edit]

I noticed that you placed a review box in Planescape: Torment. I'm glad you did, but I was curious as to why you made it collapsed by default. I'm just used to seeing it displayed proudly. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 07:47, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! In case you haven't seen, Planescape: Torment has been nominated as a Good Article, and the review has been placed on hold; some issues need to be resolved, so have a look at the review page and discuss the issues and let's get to work! BOZ (talk) 20:46, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In April, 2007, you added some tags to the BNU (software) article. I've tried to work this out but would like it if you would take a look and see if it is better in the area(s) you point to. I don't have a writing background but am a long time (30+ years) coder and hardware person. I've used the software in question along with the other related software for many years and, actually, still do, today ;) Your assistance, since it was you who placed those tags, is appreciated. Discussion is welcome :)

Thanks!

Planescape: Torment magazine request[edit]

Hello,

Glad to hear that Planescape: Torment is being worked on. It's a great game that deserves a great article!

I took shots of the articles that you requested: [1] [2] --SubSeven (talk) 19:24, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Precise width control for spanned cells[edit]

It looks like Recognizance took the best of both suggestions and merged them together. It's a minor issue, but I was experimenting to see if I could get the column widths more precisely specified for a more uniform appearance. My current approach is to define a zero height row with no column spans in which all column widths are defined. The widths look good, but I cannot get the row to be a true zero-height (hidden) row. Any suggestions?

Proposed deletion of Ache Records[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ache Records, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Tagged for months with notability concerns, still lacks reliable 3rd party references

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Bobby Cunningham[edit]

Good job in adding the stats for Bobby Cunningham. I had already forwarded myself to improve the article and was going to put a request for anyone to add the stats as I can't really do them but you beat me to it. Well done! Unfortunatley it resulted in an edit conflict between my biography but I always copy my edits (or rather the entire page) in case of an edit conflict, so I suffered no loss. I was allowed to paste my biography again while keeping for stats. If my edit ended up causing an edit conflict on your part I apologise for that, I guess two minds two minds thought alike on this occassion. Anyways, nice job on the stats once more, page looks a lot better now than it did around an hour ago. Raphie (talk) 04:31, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quotation[edit]

I agree that the italics would be better on that quote in Planescape: Torment, but that isn't one of the things listed at WP:MOSQUOTE... I'm actually unsure as to what should be done with it. Should the original text be preserved more exactly or should it use more standard formatting? –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 02:06, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Enchanted Hunters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The Fly template[edit]

Your edit to the template {{The Fly}} added the Category:Fly films. First, I think this should have been done in a way which would not include the template itself in that category; maybe <includeonly> is the correct mechanism for that, but I'm no expert in template coding. Second, I'm not sure that all pages where this template appears should fall into that category, eg. The Fly (opera) or The Fly (George Langelaan); there's even a anonymous user page (User talk:81.106.67.236) which is now listed in that category. Thirdly, I don't understand the purpose of the piped category sorting term "τ"; it makes the list at Category:Fly films look odd to me. Re: Moving template for requested moves[edit]

As the WP:RM process is being automated, it is necessary for there to be a template inline with the section. I opted to use the existing template, since it already did everything I wanted it to do (have a simple name and have the syntax that it has) — it just needed to be moved from the top of the page to the bottom. Furthermore, there are already plenty of boxes on top of talk pages, and the fact that there's a discussion going on about a page move can be reasonably inferred from the section listing. —harej 04:08, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The template indeed looked rather different, but David Levy objected on the grounds that it deviated from talk-page template standards. —harej 04:12, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Diacritics and Hockey[edit]

See my condition, for supporting a Quebec amendment for diacritics. GoodDay (talk) 21:35, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's bad enough, that pro-dios editors hi-jacked English Wikipedia (never thought consensus). As for hockey articles, the fast majority fall under the Non-North American category. Please, let sleeping dogs lay. GoodDay (talk) 22:42, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No one hi-jacked anything. You really need to get it out of your head that it was some covert mission to add them to the wiki. Diacritics are used in english, you have been pointed to articles in the past that prove this. You just for some reason have a hate-on for them to the point of being WP:POINTy about it. Personally I would recommend that you ban yourself from talking about dios as it clearly raises your blood preasure. Oh and saying people who like diacritics hijacked the wiki is also an assumption of bad faith at best and a personal attack at worst. - Djsasso (talk) 03:09, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You need to get it into your head, we made an agreement concerning the North American/Non-North American based hockey articles (NA- dios no, N-NA- dios yes). There's no Quebec exception & there's no NHL player birthplace exception. Please, keep with the spirit of the compromise. GoodDay (talk) 14:30, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do you even read what people say? We the hockey project do not have the authority to single handedly overrule wiki wide consensus nevermind actual english language use. -Djsasso (talk) 15:05, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Joseph Priestley lead image[edit]

I have implemented an Infobox Scientist in the lead of the Joseph Priestley article, effectively right-aligning the much-disputed placement of the image and left my rationales on Talk:Joseph Priestley. NHL statistical leaders[edit]

You gotta be kidding me concerning that article. It is absolutely irrelevant where the players were born, may it be communist Soviet Union , Mexico or Mars... The important thing is how they feel, what they say.... If they consider themselves Canadians, Americans, Finns... This is usually the same country as a country for which they played. Fair would be to consider them according to their last appearance in any international tournament. If they didn't play for any country they can be considered according to where they played most of their career, where they have lived most of their lives, what citizenship they possess or really according to what answer they gave in interviews to question if they rather feel being Canadians, Americans or Russians...

This is very important because Slovaks are not Czechs, Canadians are not Americans, Latvians are not Russians. If you wanted to make it according to what country they were citizens of when they were born, .... there are many of Canadians who were born as British citizens, so they should have an UK flag next to their name don't you think? Ice Hockey Rosters 2010 Olympics[edit]

Hi. I notice you've changed layout of all team rosters in group A on Ice hockey at the 2010 Winter Olympics – Men's team rosters. Are you going to change the remaining teams as well? Also, you've removed Morten Ask from the Norwegian Roster. Ask was injured the day before the Olympics, and was replaced by Jonas Andersen. But in Wikiproject Olympics the consensus seems to be that athletes that has been selected for Olympic competition should not be removed from the team if they are unable to compete for any reason. Hi there.

I just reverted your change to the U.S. roster template, without realizing that you were doing the same to the other ones. Your change means that the same sentence will be repeated over and over in the rosters article. Is that what you intend? I will have the actual CD booklet in my hands in several weeks, which should also provide the rest of the personnel info (like who the heck the trumpet player was). – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 06:16, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you have revised either Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri or Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire.

I intend to revise those articles following the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Article guidelines. There are more details on the discussion pages of those articles. I'd be interested in any comments you have. It would be best if your comments were on the discussion pages of the two articles.

Thank you.

I noticed that there is an article on Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri in the November 2000 issue (7(11)) of PC Gamer in the Bargain Bin section. Could you look at it and tell me if there is any information in it that is up to the standards of WikiPedia? Thanks. Vyeh (talk) 17:03, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for adding the information into the article. Vyeh (talk) 13:04, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:29, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PC Gamer[edit]

Hey, noticed you were listed in the reference library as having some issues of PC Gamer. If you still have the time and issues, I'd love to have the coverage for Anachronox in the April 2001 issue. There's more in the December 2003 issue, but you aren't listed as having that, IIRC. Thanks for considering! ZeaLitY [ Talk - Activity ] 02:40, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Tim Osman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Re your contribution to Bon Iver, Bon Iver (did I just write that!?) You obviously havent read any of the discussion and clearly not looked at any of the citations. Or did you look online even?... Or try finding any music publications that call the album Bon Iver, Bon Iver. And please do not point me at the original press release (or anything that is copied from it). Thanks. Question[edit]

Hi, I came across this post of yours and I was wondering if you got anywhere with it? - thewolfchild 05:31, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

See my latest change at List of NHL statistical leaders by country. I had a better implementation before, using the "div col" temnplate, but that template started behaving strangely. The "mutlicol" implementation is ok, but better suited for situations where the number of sections aren't going to be changing very often. — Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 23:42, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Moan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Richard Berry. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Ceux Qui Inventent (Fly Pan Am album).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ceux Qui Inventent (Fly Pan Am album).jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 15:58, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Noise Floor (Bright Eyes album).jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Noise Floor (Bright Eyes album).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:34, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

The article Lunar Landing Confirmed has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No non-primary references, no claim of notability, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Scan request[edit]

Hi there! I noticed that, back in 2009 (diff), you added an award from PC Gamer's seventh annual awards to the article Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord. Lately I've been undertaking the project of adding awards and award nominations to VG articles—particularly the ones from PC Gamer, Computer Gaming World and Computer Games Strategy Plus. Unfortunately, my access to PC Gamer's awards is spotty, and I don't have any from the March 2001 (i.e. seventh awards ceremony) issue. Really sorry for making such a large request, but, if you still have that issue, would it be possible for you to scan the whole awards section? These awards/nominations are really important historical information, and it would be huge if I could add them to the appropriate articles. Thanks either way! JimmyBlackwing (talk) 22:03, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • This awards project of mine is still ongoing. I've managed to add winner and nominee information from PC Gamer's 1994–1999 and 2001–2005 annual awards to at least a hundred articles now. However, despite my best efforts, the prizes for 2000 remain elusive. If there's any chance of getting my hands on them, I'd be incredibly grateful. Hey Twas! Over on the WP:VG/RL page, you're listed as owning the April 2001 issue of PC Gamer US. This is a major focus of mine right now (I've already gotten Traitors Gate, one of the games discussed in there, to Good status), and I've been trying everything to get my hands on that article. I realize you're not super active anymore, but I'd be eternally grateful if you found the time to scan "The Adventure Continues"—it's really an invaluable source that I've seen discussed in many other articles from the time.
