Tamil cinema articles[edit]

Hi - please note that it is incredibly difficult to get sources on the web for old Tamil film articles - and do think twice before you shortlist films for deletion. A film like Thoothukudi was a success in rural areas during 2006 and the songs Karuvappaiya and Kozhukattai Kozhu were chartbusters at the time across all Tamil music channels. Such a rare yet memorable success for a film with newcomers.

I see a lot of your work involves Generation Z stars such as Eruma Saani Harija, Santhosh P. Jayakumar or Abarnathi - but just please do note that there were similar phases of popularity for individuals perhaps before you started tracking films. Recent dubious creations[edit]

Hi - again, there's a very strange pattern to your recent creations and deletions requests. There seems to be a different rule for the artistes you watch/ like vs other artistes. Hardly any of the sources refer to the individuals directly - all these need to be moved to draft or deleted.

Neutral Fan (talk) 23:06, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - if possible, can you list the articles you want to create or put up for deletion somewhere else before you go ahead and do it. Bit embarrassing to see the number of deleted articles you've made / articles that you put for deletion turn up with better sources. Neutral Fan (talk) 18:29, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Neutral Fan: Here is a list: Veerasekaran, Vikadakavi ([1] [2]), Alti (film), 18.05.2009 . TamilMirchi (talk) 18:55, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure about Alti (released days before the lockdown), but others should stay. Vikadakavi ([3] [4]), Veerasekaran (few Hindu articles on Amala's debut prior to release + Bwoods review), 18.05.2009 - lots of coverage online. Please just do a simple Google search. Articles for Deletion - Films[edit]

Hi, I noticed that on articles of people related to the film industry you are including them in the "Films" discussion. Per WP:DSFILM people should not be listed on the 'Films' discussion's page, only on the "Actors and filmmakers" discussion's page. The direct quote is "Deletion discussions relating to filmmakers, directors and other non-actor film-related people should no longer be listed on this page. Please list them at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Actors and filmmakers instead." Thanks! Donaldd23 (talk) 00:12, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Problematic editing[edit]

Hi - please stop putting articles up for deletion without discussion! Please also understand that there are only 4-5 "reliable" sources which regularly cover Tamil film content - this makes the job of covering Tamil film biographies supremely difficult. Even several articles tat you've created suffer from the exact same issue. Pon Parthiban, Brigida, L. Raja, Lallu etc - they are fine to stay despite minimal extra coverage. Srivin, Kailash29792, Terminator92 - just wanted to hear your thoughts on the strange creations/deletions of this individual. Deletion of Priyanka Jawalkar[edit]

Hi. I don't understand why you put Priyanka Jawalkar's article up for deletion. She's just starred in one prominent film, Taxiwaala but she has films lined up which haven't been updated on her page yet. For example, this is one and the song released just today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-fFgb7UYjI&feature=youtu.be It's produced by a big banner and has prominent names working in it.

How do you decide who's prominent or not? Imo, she's absolutely prominent. She hasn't acted in just one movie and quit the industry. She has reliable sources of references and is an active actress in the industry, even though she's quite new. I do not think this article deserves to be deleted.

One film is not enough to have an article based on the guidelines. If you can prove that she has a significant fan base, then the article can be preserved.TamilMirchi (talk) 20:38, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"If you can prove that she has a significant fan base..." How does this make sense? Tons of background actors do not have fanbases and yet their wikipedia articles still stand. She's completed one film as a lead role but has a few more coming up, all with references. She's a pretty well known name in Telugu cinema and I believe that her article should stand. I would also like to see the guidelines you are talking about. Intoxicatedmidnight (talk) 06:58, 9 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Some suggestions[edit]

Hi, I have let go and will not comment on the possible outcome that the local Tamil-language articles are deleted. I will not request anything anymore. But just that I need to give you some advise, you certainly are an experienced user in editing Indian-language films from India, you have worked on your own for a long time. I know that it is your working habit and cycle, that whenever you see any article not in your mind, you will just request for deletion, and usually no other users will stand in your way, and the articles will just get deleted.

I know, somehow it became your habitual working style, you will examine the notability of a film judgmentally even as they stays on wiki for a long time. Sometimes just let it go, and don't straightly nominate for deletion. Try to understand the feelings of articles created getting deleted.

But sometimes things will not always work out this way, try to use references tag or citation tag for your own goodwill. Because in future there will be other users like me who will not back down easily if you try to mass-delete articles.

But these users will be more compulsive, and editing war will happen. You might get complaint and submitted to administrator as you always mass-nominate articles for deletion. I hope you will be more compassionate next time.

Till then, User:LoveFromBJM (User talk:LoveFromBJM) 1 October 2020 UTC

Nomination of Jeeva (actress) for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Jeeva (actress) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeeva (actress) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 15:05, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nominations[edit]

Hi, I noticed that when you list actors/filmmakers pages for nomination you use the "film" sort category. According to WP:DSFILM you should be using the "Actors/Filmmakers" sort category. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Actors and filmmakers. I have been changing them...removing them from "film" and adding to "Actors and Filmmakers", but wanted to let you know that going forward you should use the correct sort category. Thanks! CSD R2 tagging[edit]

Hello, TamilMirchi,

Should you move an article from main space to draft space and need to tag the redirect for speedy deletion, please do not blank the page. If you leave the original redirect, the admin looking at the page can see that the tagging is valid and delete the page. When the page is blank, the admin needs to go into the page history and investigate whether the tagging is appropriate. It's just easier if you leave the evidence on the page. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:07, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz: Kindly delete Mamakiki. --TamilMirchi (talk) 05:23, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you use Twinkle, you can tag pages for AFDs, PRODs or speedy deletion. Please remember to notify the page creator of the tagging and choose an appropriate CSD deletion criteria. This is much more efficient than posting notes on to a talk page. Admins regularly check CSD categories for tagged pages and will see them, along with the reason for deletion. Liz Read! Nominating articles for deletion[edit]

Hello, TamilMirchi,

Just a reminder that ANY TIME you nominated a page for deletion (whether speedy deletion, PROD or AfD), you MUST inform the page creator with a notice on their user talk page. If you use Twinkle, please set up your preferences so that a notification is post automatically. This might involve you checking the right (or all!) checkboxes for different categories of CSD. This isn't an option, you need to inform the editor who created the page, even if it looks like they are not active, of the fact that there is a deletion discussion of their page. Thank you. October 2020[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

TamilMirchi (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

My block was incorrect because I was not paid in any form. My block should be reversed because I can give evidence against being paid. The topics of which I created are because those pages did not have Wikipedia pages, not a financial stake. Here is prove that I am not paid. I created an article called Mamakiki. Later I realized that there was not enough sourcing other than a review from The New Indian Express and wanted to delete the page. If I were paid to create the article, wouldn't I want to keep the article even if it is not notable. The issue with me is that I am creating more articles than other people and am addicted to Wikipedia. Here is proof that I am addicted: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Archive320#TamilMirchi. Proof that I am not related to user who violate terms such as ArthurCurry70: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/ArthurCurry70/Archive. If delete pages is an issue, then by all means, I will stop deleting pages. If mass creation of articles is an issue, then I will edit Wikipedia less in the future. --TamilMirchi (talk) 20:33, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

For the reasons GeneralNotability mentions below. TamilMirchi, be advised that any attempt to evade your block can result in those edits being reverted and articles being deleted. It will be a complete waste of your time. See WP:REVERTBAN. Editors who lack integrity are not welcome here. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:04, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I have an email in OTRS from a company who asked why the articles they paid for are gone...and wouldn't you know, you created or substantially contributed to every article they listed, and the articles all relate to that company. It's also funny that you mentioned Editor 2050 here considering that nobody brought that name up...but now that you bring it up, yes, I do think you're them. I don't know why you are AfDing or G7ing the articles, and frankly I don't care. You are lying and are probably evading a block, and short of a miracle you're probably never going to get unblocked. GeneralNotability (talk) 23:27, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Out of the articles created, they are not related in any way. Who is this company? I have no connection to this company and it is a mistake. I can give a reason for why I created each article. I create articles based on reliable sources on the internet. The company won't even know my name or Wikipedia name. Paid editors edit Wikipedia based on contacting the person themselves and can write detailed articles for which lack of sources exist such as Thittivasal. My articles are not in depth because I do not consult anybody in writing the article. I am not related to Editor 2050, either. That user has created an article for a director G. Marimuthu, the article is detailed and covers the life of director. My articles such as Draft:Thirumalai (director), Draft:S. U. Arun Kumar, and Draft: Vijay Chandar mainly refer about the films themselves and not so much detail about the director's life because I have no connection or conflict of interests to any of the articles that I created. I encourage everyone to deeply investigate the company to show that they do not know me. Take the page Draft:Linga (actor) for example. I had not written much information because I could not find any. If I were paid, wouldn't I just consult the person themself and interview them and write a long article. I have deleted one-hundred articles +, more than most users. Some company investigated why their articles were deleted. I guarantee you that the company did not state directly that they were paying TamilMirchi. All they would have said is that their articles have been deleted. I am the only user who has created and deleted articles. Lallu and Soundarya Bala Nandakumar appeared on Google with a Wikipedia link. But I later deleted them, because I realized that they were not notable. Lallu had played an important film in one film (Rangoon - as shown by this ref: [6]) and Soundarya Bala Nandakumar had only played an notable role in one television series [7]. If you go to Google now and search both of these actors know, there Wikipedia links are gone because I deleted them. You are ignoring my AfDing and G7ing, but these are what extinguish me from paid users. If I realized that an article I create is not notable per Wikipedia guidelines, I delete them. If I were paid to create articles and I deleted them, wouldn't I lose my money. The deletions (I have deleted 112 articles (77 as shown here [8] + 35 here [9]). I wanted Wikipedia to have more links for Tamil actors such as Draft:Mippu, but later started deleteing/draftifying the articles because none of the sources were independent. --TamilMirchi (talk) 18:37, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
"The company won't even know my name or Wikipedia name ... I guarantee you that the company did not state directly that they were paying TamilMirchi. You're creating a complicated hypothetical scenario, but it feels like lots of distractive arm-waving. This seems pretty straight-forward to me: A company emails Wikipedia with a list of articles it says they paid for and have been deleted. An admin looks at this list, and looks at who the creator and/or chief contributors are, and your name comes up for a significant number of them. "I guarantee you that the company did not state directly that they were paying TamilMirchi." This sounds like an argument of semantics. While it might be technically true that the complaining company did not pay you directly, it is also feasible that they paid an intermediary entity/person and that person subcontracted the work. So, let's not play language games here, please. Oh, and since you keep bringing up articles that you nominated for deletion, in an editing-for-pay situation, this could be indicative of someone trying to delete an article they wrote but never got paid for. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:42, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please contact the company's intermediaries. The company should be inquired in detail. I want to prove that I am not related to any company. The administrator should contact the company because no money was ever given to me. Kindly contact all people of the company and check if they are connected me please. The possibility that the company is lying should also be considered. From an editor's perspective, it is easy to frame someone as a paid editor, but other possibilities should also be considered. The truth is that the company is the one lying and not me. The company may have paid other editors, but I never have received any money. I do not the company's name or details, either. People (random IP users) have requested edits on my talk page, but I have told them that I do not edit Wikipedia for other people. If you find someone that is masquerading as me, tell them to log in to my account. Nobody knows my password. Tell the intermediaries if they know the real person who edits TamilMirchi. If they say yes, ask them to log in to my account. I can guarantee that some fraudulent activities are happening and I am not part of any of it. I can guarantee that nobody from that company/intermediaries can identify the user behind TamilMirchi.
I do not know all of the exact ideas on how undeletion works. The company is probably lying that they paid for an article simply to get the article back on Wikipedia. Seems likely. If the company stated that they wanted their articles back and that their articles were created by a random free user. This is the question that I request you to answer. If the company stated that they want all of there articles back on Wikipedia, but that no money was involved, would they contact you?. If that same company did not use the word paid in their email. Would you guys take the same action? No and that is why that company stated that they were paid. They wanted their articles back it seems. This should be reported to Wikipedia Central because this is the first time, you are framing a innocent user. You guys said that a company is complaining that there articles are getting deleted. But you guys are not specifying which user deleted the article. I deleted 112 articles due to notability issues. If I am the one deleting the articles, why would I create the article. Paid users do not create and delete. Look at all of the blocked users on Wikipedia, none of them would have created and deleted their own article.
From your perspective, if I am not paid, do you guys expect me to lie that I am paid. I want to know. From your perspective, if I am not paid, what else do you expect me to say? You are saying that I lie but I am a truthful person. If someone is paid, then that user is blocked and that is fine. But if some person lies that they paid me specifically for some edits, then that person should be inquired as well. Say that I was paid, then I would say so, and the block would be removed. It would be the easy way out if it was the truth. I can not lie that I was paid because I do not know which articles that I was "paid" for. The reason why I keep on saying that I am not paid is because I am not paid. You should be framing the fraudulent company and not me. There has been a company that has lied that they have paid for these articles to be created. It is easy to frame someone on the basis of false evidence. Please enquire this company and their intermediaries. Figure out from the intermediaries who is getting paid. There has been a confusion. One person has sent an administrator an email that contains false statements. --TamilMirchi (talk) 00:43, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Let me try to present a different angle: A company contacts Wikipedia and complains that articles it paid for were created and deleted. Let's assume that you, somehow, are unwittingly at the centre of all of the creation and deletion of these articles. You've said that this company would "won't even know my name or Wikipedia name", so then what motive would this company have to implicate you in the centre of their complaint across a variety of articles? Did they just happen to pay some scammer who lured them into paying for articles that somehow, by extreme coincidence, YOU created of your own volition and interest? And they all got deleted? That's so astoundingly far-fetched. Anyway, it's not my job to convince you of why you are guilty, since this isn't a court, and even in courts, we don't care what the accused thinks. The evidence here is sufficient to deem you unsuitable to edit at present, and since there is no compelling evidence to the otherwise, you are unwelcome to edit here. If you have an "addiction" as you've claimed, you should quickly find some professional help for that, as addictions are serious medical issues and Wikipedia is not a suitable therapeutic outlet. As previously mentioned, any effort to circumvent your block will result in the deletion and reversion of all subsequent edits per WP:REVERTBAN, and unless you provide a coherent unblock request that is consistent with Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks, you are almost certainly going to have your talk page privileges pulled. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:54, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) TamilMirchi, Why did you mention being unrelated to Editor 2050 without being prompted by anyone? Blablubbs (talkcontribs) 12:44, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Because of this, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#TamilMirchi. --TamilMirchi (talk) 15:54, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, you mentioned Editor 2050 at 22:48, 31 October 2020 (UTC), and GeneralNotability posted at COIN at 15:38, 1 November 2020 (UTC). So that's totally inaccurate. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:06, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
