License tagging for File:Ettu Veetil Pillamar Still from Kulam (1997).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ettu Veetil Pillamar Still from Kulam (1997).jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:09, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Ettu Veetil Pillamar Still from Kulam (1997).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ettu Veetil Pillamar Still from Kulam (1997).jpg, which you've attributed to Usha Priya Movie Makers. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Majora (talk) 20:33, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Maha Raja Raja-sry[edit]

Hello, Jkl1805. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Maha Raja Raja-sry".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Stanom holder requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ɯɐɔ 💬 16:51, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jkl1805. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Pillai of Kandamath, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

A tag has been placed on Oxford Majlis Asian Society requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.open.ac.uk/researchprojects/makingbritain/content/oxford-majlis. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Ways to improve Samantha (Nair caste)[edit]

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. The page would benefit from more links to other Wikipedia articles.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Image without license[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:Ramana Madom.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ramana Madom.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 19:02, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kurup of Travancore requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". General comment[edit]

Hi, I've just come across your efforts at Menon (subcaste), Samantha (Nair caste) and Kurup of Travancore and I have had to make substantial changes to all of them. Your sourcing is very poor and you are often using the wrong tense, writing as if something exists now/is happening now when in fact it is clearly historic. I've left a specific note at the Menon talk page because I think we could be looking at a revert to its state prior to your contributions, even though that would mean the thing is unsourced once more. - Sitush (talk) 10:49, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You had also completely misrepresented the sources at the Kurup article. It isn't good enough, sorry. - Sitush (talk) 10:57, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:KPSMenon.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:KPSMenon.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pillai title[edit]

Please have a look at the edit made by an anon whose claim is that the title Pillai is also identified as a sub-caste of Nair, specifically the Illathu-Nair group. There is a source from Robin Jeffrey included in the article that supports the claim as per the anon. The same edit was made before and was reverted by me twice but reinstated again by someone. To me, Robin Jeffrey is an authentic source I don't know on which page he quoted about the illathu nair pillai caste and I tend to keep the changes without any intervention for now. R.COutlander07@talk 15:28, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank youOutlander07@talk. This page is specifically about a title not about castes or caste based surnames. There is a significant section of Illathu Nairs with that title used now as a caste-based surname but Robin Jeffrey surely was referring to that. Caste is a touchy subject in India so this page gets a lot of such anon edits.
