The reason that I've removed these individuals is that this section is for notable people only. All Olympic team members are notable per WP:ATHLETE as having participated in the highest level of amateur competition; accordingly, she's a likely article topic, and the link shouldn't be removed. None of the other people have articles, and there's no way that I can know that they're notable; therefore, they don't belong. If Mr Mason is as significant as you say, he's likely notable; if so, you can write an article on him and then restore him (with link) to the section.
