How can I add images to a new article I have just written? The picture I was thinking about adding was one I've actually taken myself so there shouldn't be any copyright problems.
It's quite simple: On the left side of the page under the search bar there is "upload file". When you click on that you will come up with this page. There you want to choose the first option "It is entirely my own work" Be sure to read the warnings there - a good file name (something descriptive) - and the proper license (there are 3 to choose from). Click the "browse" to get the correct file name from your computer, add the good file name, put a summary (which should include which article the image is going to be used in), and the dropdown box for the correct license. Click - "upload my file" and you're ready to go.
When you want to add that image into the article, go to the article, find the appropriate place for placement, and then add [[Image: WHATEVER YOU NAMED IT]] (don't include the "nowiki"), add your edit summary, preview to see if you have the right size/placement/etc. and then save. I've noticed when uploading an image that if I typed in a filename that was previously used by myself (just for curiosity) it said on the bottom to check the image before overwriting. Overwriting was the key word of concern for me - does this mean others can overwrite and ruin your uploads? If they can, can you revert them without re-uploading? Just wondering.
How to put the two banners on my user page on one line?[edit]
{{helpme}} On my user page, I have two advertisement banners for Wikiproject Video Games and Wikiproject PlayStation and they are currently on separate lines. How can I center them and put them all on one line? I tried p align="center" but it didn't work.
I'm not sure how this can be done; I can do something similar with a wikitable as below if it helps at all.

Hi, as you have already seen on the FAC page for Grand Theft Auto IV it probably wasn't the best article to nominate for FAC, for various reasons. But generally you want to nominate articles you work on yourself, or at least talk to the regular editors, as with FAC comes a lot of hard work. Hi, I noticed you have a request in at peer review which has not yet received any response besides the semi-automated script. Have you tried requesting a peer review from the volunteers list? Another idea you might want to try is to review someone else's request (particularly one from the list of requests without responses), then ask that they look at your request. Ah, while I'm doing this what's the correct name of the harbour in the song, "I'se The B'y"? In the article it's given as Morteon's Harbour but I have Morton's Harbour on a source here at home, however, Moreton's Harbour seems the more popular in Google. There's an e in it and even though I've drove past it probably 5000 times, I have no clue how it's spelled... but Moreton's Harbour looks right. It's definitely not Morton's. I just made a really stupid error. I was working on the article at the same time you were but while I was at one of my work sites. I didn't get finished so I saved it off Wikipedia and then started again when I got here. I opened the article up, forgetting to look at the history, and dumped what I had in overwriting your work. So I've rolled it back to your version and will add the stuff in properly this time. Also if you look at the search results for Twillingate I noticed several mentions of "Twillingate District" and "Fogo Twillingate District" which might need a mention in the article. It appears to me to be a pre-Confederation thing. Also looking at the search made me wonder if a List of places on Twillingate Island might be useful. Hey--good job on the Arthur (TV series) edits. But you fell into the same trap I did--Hefty Zoo Pals actually IS a valid funder. I stormed and steamed and hollered about "vandals" and "people who insert fake info" (We had one of those, where he added funding that was SO clearly false--and he was one of the ones who added HZP)--well, come to find out, it's a line of disposable tableware for kids and they actually DO fund "Arthur". I know nothing about code. At this time, it will take too long to learn. I have been searching the meta area for over 6 hours and cannot figure out how to join a discussion related to a specific page/article.
The above named article is written in the style of a grade 8 essay. I have only managed to save 2 sections thus far. I halted because I decided to backtrack to the beginning where there is a weasel words tag and a citation needed tag. I cannot alter the weasel words tag because I have no idea "who" the "who" would be. However, I have 2 articles for citation related to the "citation needed." BUT the flood WAS NOT caused by Abitibi releasing water from the dam too soon or by leaving it open for too long.
What is the protocol for changing information in order to add the appropriate citations?
I lived in Newfoundland when it was called Newfoundland and also during the abrupt change to Newfoundland and Labrador (which I and my peers pronouced NewfoundlandLabrador (all one word phonetically). I arrived October 25, 2000 and left June 1, 2005 after graduating from MUN. I am a Canadian living in the US. [all this for WHO THE HECK ARE YOU?! bkgd]

I uploaded a copy of the image under the correct filename, then put a CSD tag on the original file as a duplicate. I also moved the talk page with the move tab. Labour Day & Saskatchewan's Anniversary Article Drive
Labour Day is Monday September 1, and Saskatchewan celebrates its 104 anniversary of joining confederation on September 4, 1905. Goal would be to improve the Saskatchewan article to feature status or add main Saskatchewan topical articles or improve topics of Saskatchewan articles.
The Portal:Saskatchewan is undergoing its second anniversary showcasing to the WWW wikipedia articles about Saskatchewan content which have achieved good or featured class criteria. Please add more contributions to wikipedia and to the portal itself. If you have suggestions for the portal or want help with the "box formatting style of programming" drop a note on the portal talk page.
With fall and school starting up this late August and early September, it is time to start or upgrade the various secondary and post secondary education and Higher education in Saskatchewan articles for Saskatchewan or help with requests . Ensure that principals, vice principals, and current curricula and extracurricular activities are accurate for the 2009-2010 school year. Notable changes in curricula and extracurricular activities could be added to a history section. The newest education article seems to be an U of S article on the University of Saskatchewan Physical Activity Complex. List of universities in Canada this article was recently demoted from Featured list status. If anyone can work on this article and the new requirements to get it re-instated this would be awesome.

If there was a collaboration department, then the North-West Rebellion, and its several child articles such as its battles and people would be excellent articles to find references for, expand and achieve GA or FA status. In the words of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Christine Tell who proclaimed, that "the 125th commemoration, in 2010, of the 1885 Northwest Resistance is an excellent opportunity to tell the story of the prairie Métis and First Nations peoples' struggle with Government forces and how it has shaped Canada today."[1]
At this time, as well, the articles Aboriginal peoples in Canada and First Nations are undergoing GA review. For an idea of updating the Northwest Rebellion articles watch these two articles or assist with their upgrade.
Feature articles are being re-called due to a lack of "alt tags" for the images included in the articles, as in the ongoing screening of FA articles; Canada and Territorial evolution of Canada. When beginning or updating a Saskatchewan related article, ensure the use of alt tags, which will save time later when upgrading the article.
Please make use of Wikipedia School and University projects and project instrutions on wikipedia, inform fellow students, classes, or school instructors. Higher education in Saskatchewan, was a part of a project that encompassed higher education in all the provinces and territories of Canada. As well students in public schools have been working on Saskatchewan town articles in the past.

This is the third December newsletter for the Saskatchewan wikiproject, and two years since we inaugurated the assessment template! It is also how the anniversary of our Saskatchewan new article robot page which helps to identify new articles with Saskatchewan content and future contributors. 2007, 2008
Holiday greetings to everyone editing on wikipedia and especially those helping Saskatchewan find its niche so others on the WWW can know something of this prairie province of Canada. Please invite a fellow editor for a nice cup of tea and a sit down
Photography city scavenger hunts
In the same vein as this Wikipedia Takes The City Scavenger Hunt Contest, please roam around Saskatchewan taking important photographs of your local area, city or neighbourhood or town, school, park, forest, statue, memorial, main street, cityscape view which are needed for various wikipedia articles. If you wish just use this online tool to help upload available public domain and fair use images to wikimedia commons.
Assessment
With 2,442 stubs, there are 73% of articles relating to Saskatchewan which are stubs, describing the province in minimal detail. There are 6 articles and lists which reached feature status. These detailed, and informative feature quality sections amount to 0.2% of the Saskatchewan content. It would be nice if these percentages could be reversed. Everyone's help is requested to make the drive a success.

Please make regular visits to the portal and perhaps make it your browser home page. Nominations for selected articles and pictures for the portal are always welcome, and can serve as a great way to show off that new article you just worke on to achieve Good Article status or the super picture you took the last time you attended a festival in Saskatchewan.

Hello and welcome back to the WikiProject Saskatchewan newsletter! I, User:Presidentman, am the new editor. You may see some changes due to the fact it's my first newsletter. I'm just going easy on myself, but it will get more complex as time goes on.

We’re excited to announce that User:Presidentman has joined WikiProject Saskatchewan as our Editor in Chief. Presidentman will oversee editorial content and the Saskatchewan Wikiproject community contributions on the Wikiproject newsletter. Presidentman has also successfully developed the Picture of the Day project and has been active on wikipedia for close to three years in a plethora of projects enriching wikipedia with close to 3,000 contributions. The transition between our old editor and the new has been smoother than any of us could have hoped for — SriMesh wrote their last newsletter article for January, 2010, and Presidentman started up without missing a beat for February 2010. The previous years for SriMesh, the past editor, had been richly rewarding, seeing subscriptions grow, informing interested editors of developments and changes to the Saskatchewan wikipedia community and supporting activities on the Saskatchewan Wikiproject. It is now time for me to move to new writing projects to finish, and further responsibilities which are vying for my attention. Please join me in welcoming Presidentman to the their new position! Presidentman is working on a host of new features and an updated look, which will take things to a new level. It is wonderful to have a new editor to bring in the new year! Expect great things.
