How do I cite a new single from a musician

[edit]

Hi, how do I cite a new single from a musician that has been recently released? My edit was removed because I didn’t cite it, but when I tried to cite it, that was removed too. The link I provided was removed because it was a Yahoo url, but it was the Rolling Stone Article on the official release. Yahoo linked the story, they didn’t have anything to do with the content. So was the issue with the Yahoo url or the Rolling Stone article? If I link the Rolling Stone article directly would that be ok? I’m just trying to help and I didn’t mean to make a mistake. I appreciate the help!! Waymorefan, (talkcontribs) 20:59, June 16, 2025 (UTC)

@Waymorefan: First of all Wikipedia is not a reliable source, so linking to the main article will not satisfy that requirement. Yahoo is never a good source. Wikipedia:Verifiability and Help:Referencing for beginners should answer your other concerns. Cheers, - FlightTime Phone (open channel) 14:51, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
