Image copyright problem with Image:LatheOfHeaven.v.1980DVD.jpg[edit]
Thank you for uploading Image:LatheOfHeaven.v.1980DVD.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 17:56, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lathe George&Haber.jpg[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Lathe George&Haber.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:25, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Lathe-George&Alien.jpg)[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Lathe-George&Alien.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 08:46, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

October 2008[edit]
If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Emily Gertz, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Themfromspace (talk) 02:34, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
November 2019 NYC editathons[edit]
- Hi there, Ejgertz! I found your user name on Women Do News: Campaign Now To Raise Visibility of Women Journalists Globally. Angshah tells me you are the Wikipedia lead for the editathons on November 2 and 16. I just want you to know that I would be happy to help out if you run into any difficulties or if your participants need assistance with the articles they edit or create. As you probably know, WikiProject Women in Red has redlists on writers and journalists which may be useful for you, in particular Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Journalists and Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Missing articles by occupation/Writers - US. It is important to explain to participants that they need to support their new biographies by describing why the journalist is considered to be notable and citing solid secondary sources from newspapers, journals, books and awards presentations (not just articles or books written by the journalist in question). In this connection, you may find it useful to look through our Ten Simple Rules. It might be a good idea to set up a simple meetup page along the lines of Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/MetAsianMonth 2019. I may not be available during the hours you have set for the editathons but I should be able to follow up on any queries within a day or two. Hope all goes well.--Ipigott (talk) 07:58, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Women in Red[edit]
Hi there, Ejgertz, and thanks for joining Women in Red. The best way to gain additional experience in editing is to go through The Wikipedia Adventure. You might also find it useful to make use of our Ten Simple Rules. Look carefully through the main WiR page to learn more about the project and feel free to contribute to discussions on our talk page. Finally, I suggest that after you have made contributions on articles or talk pages, you should first use the "Show preview" button before you click on "Publish changes". That will allow you to make any necessary corrections first. (I made a couple of corrections to your recent messages as the links were not working.) Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need any assistance. Hope everything goes well with your editathon in NYC tomorrow. I'll do my best to monitor it remotely. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 10:17, 15 November 2019 (UTC)
Updated WiR announcements[edit]
I've updated the announcement on the main WiR page and have also included the editathon under Events. I hope this helps to encourage physical and remote participation.--Ipigott (talk) 13:52, 15 November 2019 (UTC)
Rose Eveleth moved to draftspace[edit]
An article you recently created, Rose Eveleth, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. –eggofreason(talk · contribs) 18:57, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
- References must be added correctly, not just as links in the article. I'll see if I can tidy it up a bit.--Ipigott (talk) 19:04, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
