Contests[edit]
User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. If you did provide such information, it is currently confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

Voting Coordinators for WikiProject Nigeria[edit]
Hi, the election for the post of coordinator for the WikiProject Nigeria has began. The election will be conducted using simple approval voting. Any member of the project may support as many of the candidates as they wish. AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October![edit]

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

I believe it would be great if the (Requests for uncreated articles) section in our wiki project can be attended to & at least one article be created this weekend as some requests have been pending since 2016.
