I saw that you're eager to become adopted. I wonder if you'll accept my offer to adopt you? --Deryck C. 04:21, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, it's my utmost pleasure being able to propagate my knowledge of the computer through Wikipedia - especially personally. Thanks! --Deryck C. 15:13, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So here starts the mentorship...[edit]

A first thing you might like to do is to design, or merely stack information onto, your user page. If you want some complex designs, you might like to see tdxiang's or Titoxd's pages; while if you want to have something simple, you might want to see my page. On the other hand, if you don't want to organize so many things and would just like to have some userboxes to tell others about you, you can have a look at Microtony's page.

Another thing is that you ought to be bold and start editing articles. Just do things out of your faith; if you do anything wrong others will teach you. Trial-and-error, though not widely acceptable on Wikipedia as some says too much errors ruin a person's reputation, but it is still better for you to try. Many articles out there have lots of errors, so you can start by correcting the mistakes.

Reply on my talk page if you have any problems =] I'll check back soon about your progress. BTW, I'm from Hong Kong, which runs HKT, UTC+8. How about you? --Deryck C. 15:20, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's a nicely designed userpage. Now I think we should get down to the brass tacks of Wikipedia - article writing. You said that there are a few articles that you wish to edit. Don't hesitate - just prop your head into the article and make a few changes. There are a few things about the "wiki markup" that you might need to know. When editing on Wikipedia, a double newline, that is, adding a blank line between two paragraphs of text, splits the formatted output into two separate paragraphs. The square brackets [[ ]] are used to enclose words to create internal links. For example, [[Wikipedia]] will create a link to Wikipedia. Don't be afraid, just work! Leave a message if you have any problem. --Deryck C. 11:31, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Happy Easter =] --Deryck C. 04:01, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just put it down. Expression doesn't matter - this is not an article. Just some discussion. As long as the meaning can be conveyed it is okay. --Deryck C. 07:01, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So far you've been doing well. You've added some really useful information to the needle article. Just be even bolder, work more, edit more! --Deryck C. 09:22, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you find that it is vandalism, and that a stored previous version is the best remedy, then revert the article to that version. For simple blanking or nonsense-adding vandalism, use "rv/v" or similar as the edit summary. However, for more complex content vandalism, like the one you're having in the yarn article, it is better to explain why you reverted. In reversion, you just go to the history, open a past revision, edit that revision and save. --Deryck C. 05:38, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your progress is so far so good. Need any help at the current stage? --Deryck C. 13:11, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a big deal =) Hope you feel comfortable using Wikipedia. --Deryck C. 04:13, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
