English variations[edit]

Just saw your post at User talk:Dgtsyb. It is not correct that US English is the standard on Wikipedia, see WP:ENGVAR. The basic principle is to stick to the variant already established in the article, ie the one established by the first substantive editor. The principle exception is where the subject relates to a specific country, for instance the Chrysler Building should be in American English because it is an American subject. Fair enough - thats what I get for a throwaway remark on my note to forewarn how these things can sometimes go down. The main thrust was that I've seen those sort of changes end up in fisticuffs, not necessarily the policy. beardybloke (talk) 16:15, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for the late delivery of this month's newsletter; the automated delivery system appears not to be working at present.--Midgrid(talk) 23:20, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
