Hi! I have a successful account on wikiHow (not trying to be a bit of a bighead here!) and I was wondering if the concept is the same but instead, this is an encyclopedia website and not a how to?

Yes, that's the general idea. I see you've been introduced to The Wikipedia Adventure.

Please note that English Wikipedia, being an older and larger project, has a more extensive set of policies, traditions, guidelines and somewhat different fundamental aims than WikiHow.
