Welcome![edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.

Arabian cinema task force and Algerian cinema annoucements template[edit]

Hi! I noticed that you created these page. While I am glad to see that editors have an interest in these areas of world cinema, however, I am currently directing or deleting these articles. Wikipedia:WikiProject Films#Task forces very clearly states that task forces need to be proposed to the project discussion beforehand. If there is sufficient editorial interest, then the Project coordinators will create the necessary task force infrastructure. Therefore, I would encourage you to undergo these steps if you are serious about the topic - we definitely would be happy to set it up under those circumstances. Image Copyright problem

Hi ترجمان05!

Request for help[edit]

I thought it might be a good idea to run a contest or two through the Countries WikiProject to attract editors to improve country coverage on Wikipedia, especially the country outlines.

I noticed you are a member of the WikiProject, and was wondering if you could help.

I've posted a message at Countries WikiProject talk page to get discussion started on what the awards programs should be and how they should be run.

Your ideas and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Slumdog Millionaire (film), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: en:Slumdog Millionaire. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. File copyright problem with File:Rabah Saadane.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Rabah Saadane.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 22:30, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! I see you have recently created one or more new stub templates or categories. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types be proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. This helps to reach consensus about whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Discoveries, where comments are welcome as to any rationale for this stub type. Please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals! There's something a little wrong with that article: Algeria qualified for the 1986 FIFA World Cup as well! Apparently they drew one and lost two games in Group D. It would also be worth adding some mention of the 2010 tournament. A tag has been placed on Creator:Étienne Dinet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Beofre creating any more stub categories, I'd recommend you do the following:
  1. Find , or create, a non-stub category, which would be appropriate for the stub category to belong to. I notice that while Category:Algerian film director stubs has one, Category:Algerian film biography stubs doesn't. Note thatUsually the stubs will be in sub-categories of the category in question, not directly in the category itself.
  2. Confirm that the category and its subcategories have a total of at least 60 stubs total. This tool can help you find the stubs - just type the category name in the "search in category" box.
  3. Nominate the stub category and template at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals (shortcut: WP:WSS/P), and supply the link to your scan.
According to the instructions at WP:WSS/P, after nominating it you should wait 5 days. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 16:18, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:LangSwitch, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Stadium Names[edit]

Please stop translating the names of stadiums and moving their articles. Please read WP:COMMONNAME and note that in cases like this, the most common name used in English media is the one that should be used. Algerian stadiums have proper "Latin" names, even though they are in French they should be used and not translated into English. For example, the Stade de France is not called the Stadium of France because the most common usage of the name is used for the article. I now have to move back (again) all the stadium names you've changed. In the future, if you want to move articles please ask the opinion of other users and not just make the move yourself. For more reference, or if you any issue, please see the discussion I have started with regards to the issue at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Stadium names Thank you.TonyStarks (talk) 04:11, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Aboubaker Djaber Eldjazairi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Bgwhite (talk) 07:28, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you made the template about obligatory prayer. On the salah page, I thought we could do with a general salah template and that is what i did here. Do you think we would still need the obligatory prayer template? Sodicadl (talk) 12:45, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! A stub template or category which you created has been nominated for renaming or deletion at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type most likely doesn't meet Wikipedia requirements for a stub type, through failure to meet standards relating to the name, scope, current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals! Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Emir Abdelkader University, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Constantine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Miloud Hmida has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Lists of newspapers in Algeria[edit]

Please note that Wikipedia does not create categories just to house a single article of the same title as the category. Until such time as there are other lists of Algerian newspapers in addition to the main one (such as separate lists by language or by individual city), the category is not appropriate and the page should just be directly in Category:Newspapers published in Algeria and Category:Algeria-related lists. Bearcat (talk) 22:39, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Again: DO NOT create Category:Lists of newspapers in Algeria until there's actually more than one list of newspapers in Algeria to file in it; we do not create categories of this type to contain just one single entry. Bearcat (talk) 16:11, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello ! it's about you replacing the Madghacen in the Algeria history panel by the seal of the republic. Maghrebi quarter (Harat Al-Maghariba) or Moroccon Quarter?[edit]

Please join the discussion here [5]. A Moroccan user, Omar-Toons is claiming that the Maghrebi quarter (Harat al-Maghariba) of Jerusalem established starting the 11th century (by people from all over the Maghreb region, as stated by some other wikis) is exclusively Moroccan. Insisting that the articles’a name should be ‘the Moroccan quarter’ and not ‘the maghrebi quarter.’. The recurrent expression(s) in the article has (have) been modified. We can read, from the article:

  • according to the 15th-century historian Mujir ad-Din, as a waqf (charitable trust) dedicated to Moroccans;
  • ‘Later pious Moroccan donors extended this with several other waqfs: in 1303’
  • for the benefit of Moroccans living in the Moroccan Quarter,
  • The quarter was donated to and mainly inhabited by people of Moroccan descent, who held on to their…

Your contribution is highly appreciated

Category:Arab people by occupation[edit]

Greetings - I just came across an edit of yours from earlier this year which left me perplexed, to put it mildly. In all sincerity, I really have to ask, "What were you thinking?" Surely, as an Arab person yourself, you must be well aware that Arab is not a "religion" (and that not all Arabs are Muslims). In any event, I'm hoping this edit was just a hastily made error on your part, and not a carefully considered decision. Please respond at my talk page so I don't miss your reply. Regards, Cgingold (talk) 14:16, 29 October 2012 (UTC) PS - I wish I knew how to read Arabic script, as I do not know what your name is. I'd appreciate it if you would be good enough to transliterate your name for me. Thank you![reply]

Call for Wikipedians in Residence in Africa[edit]

Hello,

I hope you are well and thriving!! WikiAfrica has just put out a call for two Wikipedians in Residence. One in Cape Town at WikiAfrica, at the Africa Centre; and the other for WikiAfrica Cameroon in Douala, at doual’art. If you are interested, please contact either Marilyn [marilyn.doualabell@doualart.org] for the WikiAfrica Cameroon call or Isla [islahf@africacentre.net] for the WikiAfrica position in Cape Town.

If you are not interested in applying, I would be very grateful if you could spread this call far and wide among your networks to ensure that both projects get excellent candidates. Here is the link for the information page: http://www.wikiafrica.net/two-wikipedians-in-residence-for-africa/

The article Algerian Petroleum Institute has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence that this company meets the notability guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on File:Ibn Badis - El Oqbi.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Algerian film stubs[edit]

Hello! While I admire your work to tag Algerian film stubs, I reverted your edits on a couple films, because one was not a stub-class article, and the other was already tagged with {{Algeria-film-stub}}. I also nominated Category:Algerian film stubs for deletion, because a stub tag should not have its own category unless there are at least 60 articles using that stub tag. I tried to populate the category, but only came up with 37 articles. In the future, please propose new stub templates and categories here before creation, to see if a separate category is needed.
