Schools and Faculties[edit]

This template is pretty weak. It shows a small number of schools, rather than all the faculties. As such, it conceals, for example, all the Humanities.--Duncan (talk) 09:58, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that the limiting factor is that there aren't actually articles on the faculties. If there are, then they should be definitely linked in, probably right at the top of the template. Mike Peel (talk) 12:53, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You are right: there are not. But surely we should have stubs, at the least. If schoolpages are useful, then faculty pages should be more useful. --Duncan (talk) 17:15, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All the faculties are there. I am not sure all Schools will have an article in the near future. Its mainly Schools with a significant history rather than the ones that are recent agglomerations that lend themselves to encyclopedic articles. I am not convinced that they are notable. In a similar vein some of the faculty articles are never likely to be more than stubs. EPS and Humanities are fairly arbitrary divisions and there is never likely to be much to say about them, by contrast Medicine and Life Sciences are identifiable subject areas with long and distinguished histories in Manchester. The bottom line is that the importance of a unit in the organizational structure of the university is not an indication of its importance from an encyclopedic point of view.Billlion (talk) 06:06, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Campuses[edit]

Should we have a 'Campuses' section? Fallowfield Campus currently appears in the 'Halls of Residence' section, which isn't really right. I think we would need to write stubs for North Campus of the University of Manchester (i.e. UMIST as was) and South Campus of the University of Manchester (centred on Oxford Road). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yaris678 (talkcontribs) 09:13, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Link to deleted portal removed[edit]

The University of Manchester portal was recently deleted. I've removed the link from the template. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 09:03, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
