RfC about Aquafadas[edit]

The consensus is that Aquafadas should not remain as part of the Kobo template based on the sources provided in this discussion saying Aquafadas is now a susidiary of Rakuten.

Should "Aquafadas" remain as part of the Kobo template? Me-123567-Me (talk) 03:06, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No. It's now a direct subsidiary of Rakuten, not a Kobo subsidiary anymore, as I mentioned in my previous edits (references provided alrealdy, see history + my talk page). --Kara Dauf (talk) 10:53, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
An English source says here it's been bought directly by Rakuten in March 2017. I can provide some other sources in French if needed. --Kara Dauf (talk) 11:14, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Indigo is still listed even though they sold Kobo to Rakuten 6 years ago. I've also seen no evidence that they're not still owned by Kobo. A name change is not evidence. Me-123567-Me (talk) 18:09, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's a complete different story. Indigo is the founder of Kobo, and Kobo still has connections with Indigo in terms of distribution and publishing so it has to appear on that template. Regarding the fact that you see no evidence that Aquafadas doesn't belong to Kobo anymore, it's written in the source I provided: it is now a major subsidiary of Rakuten, which means it is directly owned by Rakuten. --Kara Dauf (talk) 13:47, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a source in French written in 2017 that says "Rakuten était propriétaire d’Aquafadas depuis que sa filiale Kobo (fabricant de liseuses) avait acquis 100 % d’Aquafadas en octobre 2012. Cette fois, Aquafadas est devenu une filiale directe de Rakuten." → translation → "Rakuten owned Aquafadas since its subsidiary, Kobo (e-reader manufacturer), had acquired 100% of Aquafadas in October 2012. This time, Aquafadas has become a direct subsidiary of Rakuten." --Kara Dauf (talk) 13:55, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No. The sources provided show it has no longer direct links with Kobo since it's now fully integrated as a direct subsidiary of Rakuten. --Koui² (talk) 14:11, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
