Defunct OHA teams[edit]

After doing research into the earlier days of the OHL, I have realized that back before the Second World War, teams would literally join and drop out of the league at the drop of a hat. See List of OHA Junior A standings for a glimpse, but if we were to include every team that has ever played in the OHL in the template it would be gigantic and filled with redlinks. (And will we ever have an article on the Port Colborne Recreationists?) Because of this, I am going to re-do the template so that it only features defunct teams from 1945 onwards. It's arbitrary, but it's better than a completely red template featuring every team. Besides, even St Mike's wasn't in the OHL major junior A loop every year, they dropped out for a few years during the war. BoojiBoy 20:21, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Exception to the above - teams like West Toronto Nationals that already have articles. Any teams that have articles created can always be re-added to the template. We should attempt to write articles for the remaining redlinks on the template. BoojiBoy 20:23, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
An idea that I was planning to work on, was writing an article or stub, for all Junior 'A' teams since junior hockey was split into tiers in 1933, and creating one history article summarizing all junior teams, defunct and existant, prior to 1933. It doesn't matter to me if these pre-1933 teams are in the template, but teams since 1933 should be. I might get around to that when the snow comes back though! I don't know how much time I have in the fall but I think your idea is a good one. We can re-do the template when the articles can be written. I'll also go back to the archive and get standings from 1933 onward. BoojiBoy 18:34, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Teams since 1933 have been added to the template. Some stubs still need to be written. Flibirigit 03:03, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
