In 2016, Pearson graduated to Brisbane's Queensland Cup team, Redcliffe Dolphins.[4] In Round 23 of the 2016 NRL season, he made his NRL debut for the Brisbane club against the Parramatta Eels,[5][6] scoring two tries.[7] In September, he re-signed with the Brisbane club on a one-year contract until the end of 2017.[8]

On 18 December, it was announced that St George had released Pearson from the final year of his contract so he could join the Gold Coast on a two-year deal.[9]
