Summary

Description
English: The image shows how stabilizing atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) at a constant level would require anthropogenic (i.e., human) emissions of CO2 to be effectively eliminated. The graph on the left shows a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions from their present level over time. CO2 emissions peak then decline to a fraction of their current level. The graph on the right shows how this reduction would lead to atmospheric concentrations of CO2 being stabilized at a constant level.
