| Blazon | Magyar: Győr címere ívelt oldalú, alul fogazott, hasított, szimmetrikus tárcsapajzs. Jobb oldali kék mezejében a város patrónusának, Szent István első vértanúnak félig balra fordult, lebegő alakja látható miseingben és vörös damaszkolt dalmatikában. A vértanú jobb kezében a megkövezésre utaló kődarab, bal kezében a győzelmet jelképező pálmalevelek, feje körül arany dicsfénykoszorú, mögötte pajzsderékon egy aranykereszttel megrakott aranypólya. A vágott bal oldal felső kék mezejében ezüst városkapu látható faragott kövekből, kék hátterű, csapórácsos, nyitott kapuzattal, egy-egy lőréssel, hegyesen fogazott fanyársakkal, nyolcszögletű, két lőréses, laposan ormozott kőtoronnyal. Az alsó rész vörös mezejében a Duna-, Rába-, Rábca-folyókat jelképező háromhullámos ezüstpólya található. A tárcsapajzs felső élén a szabad királyi várost jelképező, vörös bélésű, drágakövekkel megrakott, ötágú, nyílt leveles korona látható. A címerpajzs teljesen megegyezik az egyszerű formával, de kiegészül egy dúsan mintázott barokk kerettel, melyen a szabad királyi várost jelképező korona látható, ami összefogja a címertartó pálmaleveleket. |

Official coat of arms and flags, being defined in such a regulation, are thus in the public domain in Hungary, and also in the US, according to § 313.6(C)(2) Compendium of U.S. Copyright Office Practices, 3rd ed. 2014 (Compendium (Third)): "As a matter of longstanding public policy, the U.S. Copyright Office will not register a government edict that has been issued by any state, local, or territorial government, including legislative enactments, judicial decisions, administrative rulings, public ordinances, or similar types of official legal materials. Likewise, the Office will not register a government edict issued by any foreign government or any translation prepared by a government employee acting within the course of his or her official duties."
