Description
English: The British ambassador's residence (former chancery) located at 3100 Massachusetts Avenue, NW on Embassy Row in Washington, D.C. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1928 and is an example of Queen Anne architecture. The embassy was the only building Lutyens designed in the United States. F. H. Brooks, an associate of noted developer Harry Wardman, assisted with the design and construction of the embassy.
The home is a contributing property to the Massachusetts Avenue Historic District and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 26, 1973. Its 2009 property value is $31,308,480.
