Major League Baseball team season
The 2024 Arizona Diamondbacks season is the franchise's 27th season in Major League Baseball and their 27th season at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona , as members of the National League West . They are managed by Torey Lovullo in his eighth season with the franchise. They enter the season as the defending National League champions and runner-ups of the World Series . They also opened this season with their best opening game in franchise history to date with a 16–1 blowout win at home over the Colorado Rockies . After starting the game with two runs in the first inning and a Rockies run in the second, the Diamondbacks responded with a new franchise record for runs in an inning with 14 runs scored in the bottom of the third inning.
