Nasreen Mohamedi

Nasreen Mohamedi (* 1937 in Karatschi; † 1990 in Kihim, Maharashtra), aufgewachsen in Mumbai, war eine indische Künstlerin.
Leben[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]
Mohamedi studierte von 1954 bis 1957 an der St. Martins School of Art in London. Die erste Ausstellung hatte sie 1961 in der Galerie 59 in Bombay. Danach besuchte sie bis 1963 das Guillards Atelier in Paris. Von 1972 bis 1988 unterrichtete sie an der Faculty of Arts in Baroda in Indien. Die Medien ihrer Kunst sind Zeichnung und Fotografie. Sie stellte auf der Triennale 1975 in New Delhi und der 1985 stattgefundenen Ausstellung Indische Künstler in Frankreich im Centre National de Arts Plastiques in Paris aus. Mohamedi starb 1990 an der Parkinson-Krankheit.
